“This will be the most dramatic Rose Ceremony Ever” claims Idol Judge Ellen in the previews for tonights American Idol. Just as I was expecting Jeff Probst to say “head on back to camp, I’ve got nothing for you“, or Phil to say “Crystal Bowersox you are team number one.”, we get Ryan Seacrest saying ” This is American Idol!”
Even before the judges take the stage, the band warns up and Kara puts on the “All My Children Wardrobe” Collection with a gaudy necklace, I will make the following prediction. The Bottom 3 for the Voted Off American Idol 4-7-2010 show will be Andrew Garcia, Tim Urban and Katie Stevens.
Hey guys! Jebbica here…my work thing didn’t really take as long as I thought it would. OMG, they are butchering the Beatles this week. Please let it be good! I love the Beatles SO MUCH. I have every album. I am wearing a Beatles shirt right now. Don’t mess it up, guys!
Aaron Kelly is first, and he has been nicknamed Yoda by his fellow Idols. He is singing “The Long and Winding Road”. This should be a good choice for him. Let’s see how he does. Ehh…he did not do as well as I hoped he would. Randy thought he should have changed it up more. Ellen thought it was a long and winding song. Kara said to give them some tempo and some moves. Like Tim’s, maybe? Simon said…did something happen to him? Did someone throw something at him? I got up to turn the air off and it was pandemonium on the TV. Simon said he was acting too old for his age.
Katie Stevens will go to prom with you if you’ve voted for her the most. JACOB AKA KATIE STEVENS 101: I HOPE YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION! She’s singing “Let it Be”. Wow, can I say that she actually sounds pretty good? She’s still a little sharp, but I like her little changes for her voice. Randy thought it was a HOT performance. Ellen thought it was amazing. Kara said something about her blossoming. Simon said she got it right this week.
Andrew Garcia is not the guy with no personality…he’s the guy with the MOST personality! Or so, that’s what his fellow contestants say. He’s singing “Can’t Buy Me Love”. Okay, so have you guys heard this song by Taio Cruz called “Break Your Heart”? It’s supposed to be the Summer anthem of 2010 or something like that. I’ve heard it three times today and I don’t really listen to pop radio. Anyway, does that guy kind of sound exactly like Andrew Garcia if Andrew could figure out how to sing a marketable pop song or what? I bet he’s kicking himself it’s not really him pairing with Ludacris! Okay, back to the song…not really feeling it. Randy said it was aaaiiiggght. Ellen said something about prostitutes. Kara said she should have done more with the interpretation. Simon thought it was wedding singer-y.
Michael Lynch is the Incredible Hulk. Uh, duh. He’s singing “Eleanor Rigby”…PLEASE don’t mess this up! I love this song. Um, okay. This is like one of the most depressing songs ever. And he’s turning it into some sort of sex fest. FAIL. Wow, the judges went GAGA over it. Except for Simon. Good old Simon. Ever the anchor of the show. Fail, fail, fail Big Mike. I like you but I was not a fan AT ALL of this version.
Crystal Bowersox is singing “Come Together”. Hey, random note: why do they never let Tim have the pimp spot? Even if he is terrible, he should have a fair chance, right? Crystal is a matronly Idol. She likes being herself. Oh heck yeah, a didgeridoo! Okay, I like it. Better than the Aerosmith version. Kudos to her for remembering all the words! The judges all loved it. Simon says he could see this version on the radio.
Everyone loves Tim Urban. Uhh, duh. He has a dazzling smile that hypnotizes the other contestants. Of course he does. He sold his soul to the devil! He’s singing “All My Loving”. It’s not bad. No really! It really isn’t that bad (I’m still reeling from “Eleanor Rigby”). Randy said he belonged in his own category. He said it was better than his past weeks. Ellen thought it was a perfect song choice for him and his second best performance after “Hallelujah”. Kara said he took their advice to heart and did well. Simon thought he did really well. See? Team Tim! He might just make it another week!
Casey James may be gay, according to Vote for the Worst. Well, of course he is. He’s gorgeous. The Idols call him “Fabio”. They laugh about how handsome he is. He’s singing “Jealous Guy”. His warble seriously gets on my nerves. His singing is not why he’s here, for sure. But then it gets kind of heartfelt and emotional. Pretty likable. Ellen thought it was his best performance to date. Simon thought it was the best performance of the night so far.
The other Idols think Siobhan Magnus is weird. But they love her. She’s singing “Across the Universe”. Ooh, she looks like a fairy! It’s pretty, if a little pitchy in places. Randy thought it was a little sleepy but he loved her outfit. Ellen likes that she says Siobhan no matter what. She then gave a shoutout to Rufus Wainwright and said she liked it. Kara thought it was polite, which was something she wasn’t used to. Siobhan got a little misty-eyed talking about what she thought of the song. Simon said he liked that she was better than last week (but then he said she was better last week…???) and that he liked that he never knows what she’s going to do from week to week. Then some weird guy booed Simon and got to come on stage and hug Siobhan. What’s going on with this show!??!?
Lee Dewyze is a worrywart. He thinks he’s going home every week. He also has a serious bromance with Andrew. They luvvvv each other. He’s singing “Hey Jude”. Where’s the bagpipe? Oh, there it is. YES. Bagpipe guy wins this song. Lee is likable but is just okay on this song. Kinda karaoke for me. You know, if there were people playing bagpipes at karaoke. The judges liked it despite when he went off-key. Simon thought Bagpipe Guy was a stupid idea.
Got news for ya Simon: Bagpipe Guy > Didgeridoo Guy
But the two winners of the night: Bagpipe and Didgeridoo. Kick Rihanna off tomorrow and do a duet!!

Katie is in the 2 spot, which means the producers and Judges didn’t like their auditions from earlier today… The best in earlier auditions get the Later spots in the show, and usually more of the votes because more fresh in the minds of the voters….
