Who got voted off American Idol 2011 Season 10

Does Dallas conclude the audition portion of this season of American Idol? I kind of hope so. I don’t see anyone topping “Pants on the Ground”, so why bother? *No, no it doesn’t, actually.  Denver next week. Gah, can we just get to Hollywood week already?

Doogie himself, Neil Patrick Harris, is one of the guest judges tonight.  Who doesn’t love NPH?  The first person up tonight auditioned in Season One! That makes her like, what…50?  She was horrible then, and she’s horrible now.  Poor girl…I don’t know what was worse: her singing, or her makeup. Seriously, her blush was painted in a long diagonal line on her face. What’s up with that?

Lloyd Thomas is a dock worker for an airline. He’s a homegrown Dallas boy with two adorable daughters.  He looks like Ruben Studdard with better fashion sense.  He did a pretty good rendition of a Stevie Wonder tune, and the judges loved him. He’s our first ticket to Hollywood.

After Lloyd, we get a little cattiness from Neil, who can’t seem to agree with Simon.  Kimberly Carver sang an original song, and she was really cute in a jazzy way.  Everyone liked her except Simon.  Simon thought she would have been great on “Jazz TV”.    Well, I’d watch Jazz TV if Kimberly was on it. Cool eyes, too!

Dexter Ward is FABULOUS.  I think he is crushing on NPH a bit.  But he’s horrible.  And aren’t we done with exploiting effeminate gay men for laughs yet? It’s getting a little old.  He gets four nos, but Simon assures him his “smile” will “take him far in life”.  Aww, Simon said something nice.

Another crying montage? That makes me say WAHHH!!!  But, dare I say…Kara looks pretty? Is it her hair? Something.

Erica  Rhodes used to be on Barney and Friends.  But she wants to shed her childish image, so she enters the audition room clad in leather and holding a whip.  She’s grown up, okay!?  She does okay with her En Vogue song, and they put her through. As they should.  There’s a lot of money to be made with child stars!  Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, anyone?

Dave Pittman has Tourette Syndrome, but he doesn’t have it when he’s singing? How does that work?  Too bad, because I would love to see some expletives during Mariah Carey week.  They love him, though, and he’s through. The Scott McIntyre of this season?

The Cute Jonas has replaced NPH for Day 2 (sob!). Todrick Hall is the first contestant of the second day, and he sings an original song about the judges. It was cute! Joe Jonas sounded like a robot with his critique: “YOU WERE REALLY GOOD.”

Maegan Wright also gets a YEAH. from Joe Jonas. Maegan has a cute little brother and sang “To Make You Feel My Love”. Though, I kind of zoned out for a minute because people were totally arguing on Tweetchat, like “That’s a great Adele song #idol”, then “I think that’s a Garth Brooks song and Adele just covered it #idol”. EVER HEAR OF BOB DYLAN?

Then we hear some girl, and I zone out again, because I’m hearing that dad from A Christmas Story. She looks like a pink nightmare! Why yes. Yes she does. Moving on.

The final contestant, Christian Spear, was diagnosed with leukemia when she was four.  Is it just me, or does everyone have cancer this season?  That sucks.  But she sings okay, so she’s through.

So, who was the best of the night? I don’t know about you guys, but I’m kind of digging Barney Dominatrix Girl. Overall though, the people who made it through sounded pretty good. The best collection we’ve had in one place so far, I’d say.  But really, we have to deal with Michael Castro again? Seriously? Jason was so much more likable, and we all know how that worked out for him.
