American Idol 10: Leiber And Stoller Results – RECAP

Is it that time again? Why yes, yes it is. It’s time for the American Idol RESULTS. Well, actually, that was hours ago, but you people that have lives didn’t see it. Lucky for you, I did, so shall I recap the night and tell you how it went down? YES!

Here is my recap of the night in chronological order. Leave your comments in the comment section below, people.

To start off the night, as always, Miss. Ryan Seacrest rambled on about how many votes came in the night before (72 million, a record), and how someone was going home. Oh how I love when he points out the obvious just to fill the time.

Idol Duets! Boys!
The two remaining boys got to Duet with the song “Start A Band.” Of course the Idol producers still continue to think that just because they’re in American Idol and can sing, it MUST mean they can sing together. Honestly, what’s up with that? And also, what was up with James trying to put a country twang on his “mental” voice? And when James tried to kiss his wife during the performance, her nose poked him in the eye. Oh, don’t you just hate when your nose is so big, you poke guys’ eyes out when you’re kissing them? This was undoubtedly the worst duet in quite some time. I’m not blaming James or Scotty, but they suck together. How about they don’t start a band?! Did anyone else notice those bored random little kids lined up behind the judges? *Is confused*

Idol Duets! Girls!
Haley and Lauren did a duet with the song “Gun Power & Lead.” This was a lot better than that first Duet. They actually don’t sound bad together. Lauren had more singing time, but they were still cute together. I like Haley’s shirt too.

Family Time!

The Idols got to have a little bit of family time. What did we establish?
Lauren is NOT happy with her dogs being shaved.
Scotty’s sister is physically the female version of him.
Haley does actually have family.
James’ little boy Hunter is a cute kid.

Results!
Who was the first to be making it into the Top 3? That would be Georgia’s sweetheart, Lauren Alaina. She got to sit proudly on the newly spray-painted-gold seats. This means she’ll be making that trip back home to see everybody and pretend to be a rockstar. WHEW!

Getting Gaga For Gaga!
Before the Idols got mentored by the Lady herself, they got to watch a little bit of what Lady Gaga does during one of her concerts. By the looks on their faces, they were all pretty much thinking, “I am not doing any of this.”

Guest Performance, Enrique Iglesias!
Let me just throw this out there for a quick sec… this guys is cute as hell. I could just look at him and be happy. However, when he opens his mouth and starts to “sing”… it totally kills the hotness buzz and just becomes a hot mess. He performed “Dirty Dancer” and I was wishing he would have been dancing a little bit more than singing.

Ryan Seacrest!
Does anyone like this guy? And someone tell me why he randomly lunged himself onto a guy’s face in the crowd!

Ford Commercial!
There was some cool visual effects in this video… I’m sure if you were high, it would have been fantastic. However, they completely tarnished an Owl City song. May they all be doomed to hell for doing so.

Guest Performance, Jordan Sparks!
Does anyone remember her? Neither do I! But, she made a come-back and brought out her inner-Beyoncé talking about how “she is woman… hear her rawr…” and all sorts of good stuff. The song was redundant and made no sense, but at least it was exciting. Although one part that was annoying was the fact that she was singing about “wearing stilettos and walking proud” yet, during that performance she was wearing short wedges. Um… WTF?

STEVEN TYLER PLUG!
Yup! He débuted his new Music Video full of hot chicks and saggy old Steven Tyler. It was also another good-video-for-stoners type of thing.

Final Results!
Haley Reinhart got one of Willy-Wonka’s Seats! Which means it was just down to Scotty McCreery and James Durbin! Scotty looked really calm while James was crapin’ his last radish. Who got that last seat? Scotty did, which means James Durbin was voted off idol. OH WHAT? I even voted for James. Oh my god, I boycott this. Who am I kidding? My job isn’t boycotting shows. Psh. I gotta be here to make fun of next week. James went out with a bit more screaming than usual, and even got to kiss his wife without being stabbed with her nose. Aw!

James was the clear cut winner if you ask me. He never had a bad week or a bad performance. Unlike the goof that sings out the side of his mouth and the two girls that both have not been up to the caliber of Durban.
Even if this was the best year for American Idol, the most talented group by far, I think that my watching of this years American Idol is over. I feel that Hailey will win, best unique sound of the three remaining…but there are loads of those country folks that must have speed dial for voting…so who knows.

I am still in shock, how does someone who has never been in the bottom three right to the end get voted off. I think I will give this show a miss until the bile settles

  • 3 Anonymous // May 13, 2011 at 8:36 am

its just fixed , there was no way james that james could not of been in the top three .. he sang better then every body there ,including jordan sparks.. i also feel steven tyler had a dislike of james maybe steven feels james has more talent then him self . but anyways im sure james will take a few days then come out rocking , in this household every body is disapointed ,and feels cheated and no point in watching any more idol

Idol just not the show it use to be. A lot of hate goes on. The judges were good in the beginning but I think Ms Pritt (Jennifer Lopez )was very nasty towards Jacob in his last two weeks. She couldn’t have been any colder. She would have to had worn his shoes to know where Jacob came form and how hard he worked to get to where he was. Jacob will be find because he has a strong support system (God) as for Jennifer, Janet Jackson made her who she is today. I lost all respect for her

I Cannot Believe That The Best Was Kicked Off Lastnight!!!! I Think That The Judges Should be Able To Save Some-one Also When itComes Down To The Final 4!!!!! This Is Def. Not Fair James Was Never In The Bottom 3 Ever and Than he gets The Boot!!!!! definatley WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!

  • 6 Nae*1 // May 13, 2011 at 9:34 am

This article was hilarious to me!

  • 7 Kate // May 13, 2011 at 10:08 am

I think this was a reaction of the viewing audience tired of the judges and Seacrest trying to manipulate the results. Jackson especially had already ordained James as the winner and his lengthy criticism of Haley’s first song Wednesday night backfired. Also, we’ve had three ‘rockers’ in a row win Idol and it’s time for something different. I think the voters got it almost right. Would have liked to see Scotty go first though. Those two girls are amazing singers.

jacksons judgement of haley ( over and over) probably made people mad and voted for her. She is clearly the worst and should have gone home a long time ago. go scotty and lauren

  • 9 Mark // May 13, 2011 at 12:05 pm

It sure looks like people are not voting for their favorites but for their second choice who they think need saving based on the prior week or judges comments, figuring everyone else will continue to vote for the top choice. James’s supporters figured he was safe so they spent time voting for the second choice. That is the only way to go from never in the bottom to out the door. Jacob was circling the drain for several weeks, so no surprise there but last night showed what happens when voters go for second choices such as Haley as they feel sorry for her.

I am soooooooooooooo glad screaming James was kicked off American Idol. Scotty has to win, BEST VOICE, BEST LOOKING, and that is what it is all about. However X-Factor with the gorgeous Chryl Cole from England ,will knock American Idol off the radar.

  • 11 ome // May 13, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Idol should get rid of jackson and lopez. they didn’t do james a favor, on the contrary people got upset and in lieu voted someone else than james as a sign of protest.

  • 12 Sue // May 13, 2011 at 1:59 pm

James was getting a little too full of himself and Haley is beginning to act like a diva. Don’t get me wrong they have good voices but going to their heads whereas Lauren and Scotty are so down to earth and cute. Scotty has shown the most overall improvement over the weeks and Lauren is right behind. She has a beautiful voice. Haley has a nice voice but is pretty much blues whereas Lauren can go country or rock and so can Scotty. James always had to get the screaming in his songs which ruined some of them.

  • 13 Kristi // May 13, 2011 at 2:13 pm

America doesn’t like to be told who to vote for. They rooted James to the end every week…he was bound to go because of that alone.

Haley is HORRIBLE. She needs to take her arrogant, nasty, can’t-take-criticism-from-the-judges attitude and growl the whole way home. Grow up chickie!

Sweet little Lauren…comes out with a bang every week. Her voice really is so pure and she still has so much to discover with her voice. She could hit ANY note; she just needs a boost to try. She is so talented.

Scotty is cute of course…some of his song choices aren’t good for him “young blood song”. It was entertaining but didn’t display his talent at all. He will be a star whether he wins or not.

    scotty smells bad.

  • 15 Anonymous // May 13, 2011 at 4:02 pm

    Lauren will win

  • 16 Anonymous // May 13, 2011 at 5:13 pm

I think the top 4 were a TIE! I love all 4 of them, it reached a point I could no longer vote at all. I love James for his great voice! he can sing ANYTHING! and I really really expected him to be voted the winner. Scotty is great too! I love Scotty’s style the most of the 2 guys, because it’s more the type of music I prefer. I don’t always like Haley’s songs, but she does a fantastic job. And Lauren is GREAT, I love what she’s doing! I can’t vote.. I sure miss James already, and I cried because he is gone. It would have been the same reaction for me though with any of these 4. This is the first time ever I have seen 4 that deserve to make it to the top.

  • 17 Anonymous // May 13, 2011 at 9:24 pm

My wife and I thought James was the best showman or performer. He may not have had the best voice but we thought he would win. However, he got the same surprise as Pia. Voice wise Pia was the best and should have been in the final. The judges comments should not effect a persons vote. As proven this year, everyone should vote for their favorite .

  • 18 Paul // May 13, 2011 at 10:15 pm

I’ve said it before. Let loose those teen with unlimited text voting and the worst can happen and it did. Cait, I liked James and Scotty singing together better than Lauren and Haley. Not to be a prude, but I did not appreciate Gaga’s outfit. I thought it was inappropriate for prime time TV. They may find out someday that someone hacked into AI’s voting system and altered the outcome to get viewers to stop watching AI. None of the remaining 3 contestants are American Idols. Does anyone agree with me?

  • 19 michael // May 14, 2011 at 2:36 am

Haley is a star. No doubt. She has ‘it” and I don’t think the other two really grasp how to “perform” although they can sing very well, haley is the package deal.

  • 20 Anonymous // May 14, 2011 at 6:14 pm

Go scotty and lauren america`s sweethearts sorry james went should of been hallie this year it will be a county singer yea hah

  • 21 jimr // May 15, 2011 at 4:47 am

the american idol will be and should be for what it,s stand for should be scotty not even close with lauren clean cut great talent i remain jimr

  • 22 Kate // May 15, 2011 at 10:13 am

I LOVED James! If anybody made Gaga’s yaya go lala, it was James! I detest Scotty. People say that Scotty has a voice like Josh Turner and George Strait. WRONG!!! His range is about as big as my pinkie-toe toenail! Josh and George can actually hit the high notes! Scotty can’t! If you can actually see the similarities over the differences between Scotty and those guys, I’m sorry but you are truly tone-deaf!

  • 23 Cheryl // May 15, 2011 at 5:16 pm

It is the classic case of Chris Daughtry, voted off at #4. In an interview Chris was asked how long did it take him to recover? He responded about 30 seconds when off stage he was met by a record producer and the rest is history. Jame is better off now, the rest will fade just like Elliott Yamin, Kathryn McPhee and yes, Taylor Hicks, you go James, following in the footsteps of Daughtry! Rock On!

Comment (14) Scotty smells – poor thing could not be brave enough to sign his/her own name. Start smelling your own armpits and crotch sweetheart. SCOTTY WILL WIN, HE HAS TO , HE IS SIMPLY THE BEST> SO THERE. J
