Top 4: James Durbin “Love Potion No. 9″ – VIDEO
This week the American Idol contestants were singing songs by Leiber and Stoller. Because apparently the Idol producers have this need to give these Idols crappy choices and make them sing songs that no one who was born in the last 400 years would actually know. Why do they do this? Hell if I know.
Lady Gaga was the mentor this week, which I’m sure was very cool for the contestants. I guess this evens out the oldness of the songs, with Gaga. Maybe she can teach them how to avoid a bad romance, ride a disco stick and make out with Alejandro.
This week James Durbin went with some “Love Potion No. 9.”
Judges thoughts…
J-Lo: “You can sing anything. I wasn’t sure about that song, but you just proved me wrong.”
Randy: “You have a moment every single week.”
Steven: “What you can’t do with your voice you did tonight.”

Well, I guess James can do anything besides being tagged a heavy metal rocker. He can prove anybody wrong. That’s how good he is. No question he will make it to be American ‘Idol’.

Wow do I feel old. Back 350 years ago when Leiber and Stoller were making hits I was a teenager. Imagine that! Those were the good old days. I still like Scotty, although I agree James will be the Idol this year.

Scotty has the best voice I have heard in a long time. His voice is so smooth and his words are
easily understood.

I voted for Scotty, but with the genere. I think James got voted off too early. I wanted to see James and Scotty the final two, but it is sad James got voted off, but it is America voteing and thats what happens. I also think they should elimanate voteing numerous times to only one vote, that would even the score out better, but do not worry, James will get picked up with a recording label, everyone knows its not the finalist the only one that gets signed.
