The Top 6 American Idol Contestants this week had to perform songs by Carole King. Perform or murder. One or the other. Good thing I’m not really old enough to appreciate Carole Kings’ music or else this night might be laughable… Scotty McCreery went with some “You’ve Got a Friend.”

J-Lo: “When we hear you sing songs like that, that’s why we couldn’t let you get away with what you did last week.”

I think Scotty is great, very smart, and sweet guy. He sings beautiful. You can understand his songs, and he sincere , and put his heart in his songs. He should win or at least be runner up and have a singing career, I hope some recording coming will sign him on .

He’s the only male that has a voice…no screaming! You can close your eyes and enjoy his voice.

Totally agree, he is best vocalist and most disciplined in performance…Admit Swingin was huge mistake in respect to song selection…but he did it to perfection and I don’t think he had proper guidance on that…He’s got to be confused, as all front end praise said don’t change a thing…then all recent feedback is show us you can do more…variety.

Durbin does have pretty sound at times, but screaming isn’t my thing…Read today where someone said he was a trainwreck…Thinking the same and how would you like to be producer trying to work with all that versus Scotty who is disiplined in approach and more stable in performance and ability to apply principals of training to pull off anything they’ve throw at him with dignity and technical awareness.
