Tonight is the American Idol 10 2011 top 12 boys’ performance. This time I will be listing what the contestants sang and their voting information and will be saving my snark for the comments. Feel free to agree or disagree with me or the judges in the comments below!

Song: “Superstitious” by Stevie Wonder
Judges’ thoughts: Steven said it was brilliant. J-Lo said it was good and it should be better next week when he gets his nerves out of the way. Randy said no karaoke singer could sing better than that.

Judges’ thoughts: Steven said “Holy Shipyards!” and that it was beautiful. J-Lo said “he did it”. Randy said it was karaoke.

Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “not OMG” to him. J-Lo: “you’re Nat King Cole, not Usher.” Randy: “a little pitchy, dawg.”

Song: “Come On Over / Streetcorner Symphony” by Rob Thomas
Judges’ thoughts: Steven thought it was the wrong song. J-Lo said he didn’t show America who he was as an artist. Randy said it wasn’t his best try.

Song: “Light My Fire” by The Doors
Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “You were on fire!” J-Lo liked that he stayed true to himself. Randy thought he had some pitch problems but liked that he was bold and fun and will do what he wants to regardless.

Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “That was f— crazy good!” Randy: “This is how you do it!”

Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “You can sing a ballad like nobody’s business.” J-Lo: “You tell a story when you sing.” Randy didn’t think it was a great performance and that it was really pitchy.

Song: “Letters from Home” by John Michael Montgomery
Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “You couldn’t have picked a better song.” J-Lo: “That’s why I didn’t cut you after Hollywood Week. You were born to sing country music.” Randy: “I love that you switched it up and did John Michael Montgomery.”

Contestant: Stefano Langone
Song: “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars
Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “I can always tell you’re on it when that vein in your forehead pops.” J-Lo thought it was natural and that there’s nothing awkward about him. Randy thought it was authentic and could have been on the radio.

Song: “Maggie May” by Rod Stewart
Judges’ thoughts: Steven liked it, J-Lo liked his non-dancing and said his smile brings joy to the world. Randy just likes that he’s different (that means don’t vote him off based on that performance).

Song: “A House is Not a Home” by Dionne Warwick
Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “You make me cry when you sing.” J-Lo said he was pretty much Luther Vandros’ replacement. Randy: “There is nothing you can’t do. Excellent job.”

Contestant: Casey Abrams
Song: “I Put a Spell on You” by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
Judges’ thoughts: Steven: “You are in your mind good and out of your mind unreal.” (??) J-Lo said he was sexy and commented that he must “want it bad”. Randy wants “more, more, more”.

Ryan said at the beginning there were only going to keep 5 guys from tonight (then 5 girls) and allow the Judges to pick there wild cards. Not sure if that is holistically true, can’t find it anywhere else but that’s what he said at the opening… anyone else confirm hearing that?
