Any of your guys know who My Chemical Romance is? Well, most do, even if you hate them, you know who they are. For those of you who don’t know: they are kind of an emo band. They write really depressing music, and they scream quite a bit in their songs. So, why am I posting this on Idol Mania? Because, apparently My Chemical Romance is going to be one of the theme songs in this Idol ads on TV.
This may seem uninteresting, but it’s just weird to hear Idol and MCR in the same sentence. Next thing we know, it’s going to be MCR week where all the Idol contestants have to cut themselves and sing about death. OH, can’t wait.
According to a Fox rep, a final decision on promo music has yet to be made. But Gerard Way (lead singer) tells THR.
“Any kind of infiltration is great, so the offer was pretty much a no-brainer. It’s something a lot of people are going to see and they’ll hear the music which is the most important thing.”
Frank Iero then says,
“I think it would be really cool if an actual band was heard on the biggest music TV show.”
It will be their new song “Sing” that will be heard through Idol this coming year, which was daubed on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

A-MCR is NOT emo,they are NOT screamo.
They are ALTERNATIVE.
B: the new album isnt like the past albums, though it is still great

Sorry, but I’m with razor rose on this one. My Chemical Romance has more talent then anyone from American Idol, and this is a fan of both speaking. You know, I used to come on this site all the fucking time for the live blog, but this makes me kinda fucking hate you. Nice way to stereotype. Also, the only reason I came to this site today is because apparently some dude got my email from this site. Thanks for selling my shit to a spammer. Screw this. I doubt I’ll be back.

Every type of music is a stereotype. COUNTRY, is a stereotype. Emo is a type of music. I’m not saying they go cut themselves in the corner.

I agree with razor rose. Before you say anything about a band, research them. Then you would obviously know that MCR is NOT emo and they do NOT promote self harm. ACTUALLY, they are against self harm and suicide. I am very disapointed that you would write such a thing about MCR. If you don’t like them and have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
And don’t freak out on me, because I do watch American Idol, I have for years and I feel that a show like this and the people watching it should be very happy a band like MCR might be a part of it. I hope you can be less judging in the future, especially comming from someone who like American Idol who should be for music giving it a CHANCE. I’m sorry but doing something like this will get the MCRMY and the KILLJOYS defending MCR and probably disliking you a LOT.

Wow, their not even fucking emo, do your homework before you post shit like this. Its insulting because now you’re calling millions of people who listen to them emo. But seriously you must be a dumbass, because they don’t sing about death, and those gay ass Idol contestants would be lucky to sing one of My Chemical Romances’ songs. And Gerard Way could kick any Idol contestants ass when it comes to singing, so suck it.
