Heylo people. Guess what? We’re finally down to the Top 4 of the American Idol Contestants. Holy crap! This season couldn’t be over soon enough. So, I’m happy that it’s getting down there. This is the time where it’s REALLY awesome to see someone get the boot. Why so cruel Cait? Why not so cruel, random person?
Anyway! Here is my recap of the Top 4 movie themed performances.
Ahh, yes. It was MOVIE THEMED. Meaning, the contestants got to do some Acting. Or some singing…I forget. But, Jamie Foxx was the mentor this week – and I thought that was pretty cool. I like him. He does movies and music, so this is the perfect theme for him to mentor. Does Jamie have a tattoo on his head? OW! Painful much?! Oh and guess what? The contestants also did Duets. Cool!
Time for the performances:
01) Lee DeWyze
He sang, “Kiss From a Rose” by Seal and from the movie “Batman Forever”.
I like Lee allot, because to me, he’s the only one this whole season that has really had any talent… but that was NOT good. There were a few higher notes that he couldn’t hit, at all. It sounded like Siobhan was murdering a kitten (inside joke). The judges didn’t like it, and Simon thought it was Karaoke. Ah well, it was good for Lee to get some bad comments.
02) Big Mike Lynche
He sang, “Will You Be There” by Michael Jackson and from the movie “Free Willy”.
Oh wow, Big Mike doing an MJ song? Surprised it didn’t happen sooner. The performance was uber predictable, and even Ellen said that. Simon really had nothing to say about Mike, but did want to know why they would make a movie about a Willy. LMAO! Mike said that his GOAL was to “make it into the Top 3”. So what, you just go home next week? Sounds good to me.
Lee and Crystal Duet
They sang, “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard and from the movie “Once”.
Um… Hello. These 2 are freakin’ awesome together. Have I heard this song done before on Idol? I think I have. I think these guys should just have the show all to themselves. The judges loved it, and even Simon thought it was awesome. YES!
03) Casey James
He sang, “Mrs. Robinson (DioGuardi)” by Simon & Garfunkel and from the movie “The Graduate”.
All I could think about when watching him was, Kara as a Teacher, and him being this 15 year old boy. It was gross. The judges like it, and Randy thinks that song was for Kara. I thought he did okay, because he didn’t sound as Goaty as usual. Who thinks that little patch of hair under his lip makes him look like a goat? BAAAAAH. Go home!
04) Crystal Bowersox
She sang, “I’m Alright” by Kenny Loggins and the movie Caddyshack.
I liked it. It wasn’t my favorite thing she’s ever done. But, it was a heck of allot better than the rest of them. Ellen seemed to think it was better than the original, and the rest of the judges liked it. I hope she wins!
Casey and Big Mike Duet
They sang, “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman”.
I would argue, that Casey is one of the worst finalists in Idol history. He and Mikey Face sound okay together, even though they were a little off. I was really hoping the stage would have just CAVED in right about then. The judges definitely didn’t like it as much as liked Lee and Crystal.
I don’t think any Duet compares to when Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert did it last year.
Overall, it was a horrible night. And as Simon would say, “Absolutely atrocious”. They can all go home for all I care. I do however, like Crystal and Lee together.
What did you guys think? If you have different opinions from mine, please do share. I would probably LOVE to hear them.

So what? Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert did a great duo last year….and where are they now? neither won American Idol……duh….and in a year from now you will barely hear about them if at all.

Kat, are you serious? Adam Lambert is very hot right now. He is one of the winners who will actually go somewhere. I might ask? What about the actual winner last year? Kris Allen I think? What has he done lately? Absolutely nothing except that he beat who should have been the true winner. I think if Lee and Crystal do not do well alone, they could actually be successful as a duo and sell alot of records

You took the words RIGHT out of my mouth Carol.
I saw Kris Allen live… at a Dog Festival (Petapoloza) about a month or so ago. Adam Lambert would never do something like that, because he’s to busy touring the world.

Kris Allen is touring with Keith Urban…. I would say that’s pretty good.

I guess touring with Keith Urban is okay if you’re an Urban fan. I, personally wouldn’t see him if I was given FREE front-row and/or backstage passes. Kris yes! Urban, oh hell’s to the no’s!!

It is great that everyboy has an 0pinion and if we didn’t all have different taste then only one person would sell millions of dollars worth of music.

Adam def should have won last year. I was more shocked then he was when Kris won. Idol needs to fix their voting system. Don’t know how the heck Siobhan got that far in either but I guess the tone deaf have to have a favorite too, what can I say? This year, Crystal is by far the most talented. I like Lee but he seems to have a tude and so if I hear him on the radio I may like him more then looking at his tude face.
