We have a presidential order to have a good time tonight, Folks, so let’s do it!
Idol is live from two locations – Queen Latifah is heading up the crowd at Pasadena – and she looks GORGEOUS. Her lineup is Black-Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Jeff Beck, Joss Stone, Annie Lenox, and Elton John. Sheesh.
Ryan is doing a poor Queen Latifah impression. Alicia Keys is performing, as is Mary J. Blige and her “allstar band.”
The idols are singing, dressed in white outfits. It’s all of them – the Top Ten. I don’t know this song. Big shocker there, huh? Er…Top Twelve.
Jennifer Garner takes us through an impoverished Kentucky county. She supports the Save the Children program, and people don’t realize that it’s needed in Appalachia REALLY BADLY. Trust me. I’m from West Virginia and Tennessee.
Posh brought some children in to the show, and she also went to Kentucky. She witnessed the delivery of a bunch of books to the region. 1-877-IDOLSAID to donate to help kids like the ones Jennifer Garner and Victoria Beckham were telling us about.
Look. I’m not going to recap all the stories, because you should really watch them and via live blog I don’t do them justice – in fact I think live blogging these stories marginalizes them. I will make snarky comments about the judges, and will comment on people’s outfits. I hope that’s OK. You should watch the show. I’m actually trying to wrestle the credit card out of my husband’s hand, as he’s afraid I’ll jump onto the website and donate. I think that a show like this – a reality show that is so sensationalized and so talked-about – that gives something back to the world is absolutely great. In fact, I think that all reality shows should be required to have a “Celebrity Apprentice Gives Back” or “Keeping Up With The Kardashians Gives Back” so that something good comes out of this reality TV world. That’s my two cents.
Funny that Russell Brand has a moment on here, because I think that he should be Simon’s replacement next season. Thoughts?
In my weight loss journal, I have a picture of Fergie, because I totally want my body to look just like hers. I wouldn’t, however, decorate it with gold lame capes. Well, not that often. Boy, the Black-Eyed Peas don’t sound too good tonight.
I threw my back out, or am having back spasms or something.
Ooh. Some elimination news! Everybody looks so pretty in their all-white outfits. George Lopez is jumping around and on stage hugging Ryan, though I don’t really understand why. He does some comedy-type stuff. He had all the Idols stand up, and then told them all to sit down and relax. Does that mean we’re not having an elimination? Does that question sound bathroom-related? I apologize.
George proceeds to roast the judges. Hilarity ensues.
It’s just occurred to me that if George Lopez votes Simon off, and then it turns out he’s going to be the judge that replaces Simon, I might vomit. Ford music video. Again threatening to make me vomit.
Elimination news time! Crystal and Casey are up. One is safe, the other is in the bottom three. It’s Casey. Now Lee vs. Aaron. Lee is safe.
Jeff Beck and Joss Stone with the Jubilation Choir. What’s that thing on Jeff Beck’s arm? HVAC tape? Joss Stone is like a force of nature or something. You guessed it – I’ve never heard her sing before. She never visited that box I live in.
I just want to carry the Secretary of the UN around in my pocket. How adorable was that guy?
You know, I forgot all about the big Morgan Freeman scandal, and I think I’ll just go on and forget it all over again. You know what else? I never went to see Avatar in the theater. I know, right?
Russell Brand and Jonah Hill again, and Slash is there, and TATIANA WAS THERE!!!. And the real Octomom. Huh. What a circus. Jim Carey. Whatever.
I have to admit, though, I kinda like Carrie Underwood. She was great and looked really pretty.
David Arquette is interesting when not being ridiculous.
Ryan just said the show was going to go late tonight, so hang on to your hats and your handkerchiefs, folks.
And Bill Gates was all, “I think I’ll wear my purple sweater.”
Wanda Sykes, while hilarious, has the type of voice that makes me want to start digging at the floor with my bare hands. However, her bit was VERY funny.
More results news. Lights are dimmed. Siobhan, Mike, and Tim walk to the center of the stage. Tim is in the bottom three, and Siobhan and Mike are safe.
David Cook is also a champion of oppressed women. I REALLY love him now.
ANNIE LENNOX! She’s wearing her HIV Positive shirt again. Wonder if that’ll start another media storm.

I had such a difficult time picking the best of the losers. I went with Aaron. I figured Tim is a little older and mature and would have a bigger fan base than Aaron. Our pool gives 2 points if you guess the Vote Off and 1 point if you get in the bottom three. Just 26 of us in it. I’m on top by 1 point right now.

I HAVE WATCHED EVERY SEASON SUCH FAR AND HAVE PICKED ALL BUT ONE WINNER FROM THE TOP 24, WHEN AMERICA STARTS VOTING. I PICKED ADAM LAMBERT LAST YEAR, HE SHOULD OF WON LAST BASED PURELY ON TALENT AND VOCALS, AND I FEEL HE DIDNT WIN BECAUSE OF HIS SEXUAL PREFERENCE. i cant belive tim got voted off. he and aaron kelly are my favs. they are both good singers. i didnt watch llast night because it wa too late for me. but i just resently found out at the top of the screen that tim was voted off. and aaron was in the bottom three. i cant belive it. i thought they both did a good job last night. i wish i could have watched. i just cant belive tim gone home last night. there both really good singers. and both my favs. i really hope aaron makes it to the top. i think he has potential to be a star and i really hopes he wins. well i will just have to watch and see.

Hey guys, very late here but I just wanted to say thank you for covering for me! I am home from the hospital for the night but unfortunately Nathan is not and won’t be until at least Monday (this is just how it started last time…noooo!!!). But anyway, hopefully things will work out okay. I will keep y’all posted. We kinda watched all 50 hours of Idol gives back on the crappy TV from the room…I must say it was most horrible without being able to enjoy all the delightful commentary!
