The top 8 girls are singing, and we will finally find out who the Top 12 will be this week!
Katie Stevens
The show is only an hour long, so we’re jumping right into the performances. Katie Stevens is first, singing “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson. She didn’t seem to do Kelly justice. Randy said it paled in comparison and sounded karaoke. Ellen said it was a great song choice, but she didn’t feel the words through Katie. Kara thinks she has a great radio voice, but she doesn’t know what genre she fits in just yet. Simon gave her an A for trying but that she had more work to do. To vote for Katie, call 1-866-IDOLS-01.
Siobhan Magnus
Next is Siobhan Magnus. She is singing “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals. Her intro was amazing! Wow! I am a definite fan of her voice, if the song is a little cheesy for her. She looks pretty tonight, though! I think she borrowed her dress from the daughter of The Jetsons. Randy said it was HOT! Ellen said Siobhan moved her. Kara loved her a capella intro. Simon said he wasn’t really a fan and that it was all a bit weird. To vote for Siobhan, call 1-866-IDOLS-02.
Lacey Brown
Lacey Brown is next, singing “The Story” by Belinda Carlisle. I’m dreading this, but she sounds better than she has in past weeks. Randy said it was sleepy but easily her best performance. Ellen said it was a perfect song choice. Simon said he didn’t love the song but he loved her voice. To vote for Lacey, call 1-866-IDOLS-03.
Katelyn Epperly is singing “I Feel the Earth Move” by Carol King. She is doing pretty good, but it’s not my favorite performance by Katelyn. Randy didn’t think she connected to the song. Ellen didn’t think that was the song choice to get her into the Top 12. Kara said she didn’t know what happened. Simon said he likes her hair, but it was like Request Night at a restaurant. Didi Benami has her guitar for her performance of “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac. I actually liked it a lot! Randy said it was much better than last week. Kara said it was one of her favorite moments of the show so far this season. Simon agreed with Kara, saying it was head and shoulders better than all the other performances. Paige Miles
Paige Miles sings “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin. She sounds very nervous and super-shaky. She looks like she is going to start crying! Randy did not like it at all. Ellen said it was sad and heavy, especially for a song called “Smile”. Kara said it was all wrong. To vote for Paige, call 1-866-IDOLS-06.
Crystal Bowersox is singing “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman with her electric guitar. Is it just me, or would she have been great in the 90s? Lilith Fair, anyone? She’s got a good voice for sure, though. Randy loved the honesty. Ellen said it was the best performance of the night. Simon said she was one million billion percent going to be in the Top 12, and she was the one to beat. To vote for Crystal, call 1-866-IDOLS-07.
Lilly Scott
Lilly Scott is last and is singing “I Fall to Pieces” by Patsy Cline. It started kind of rough, and it’s quickly becoming my least favorite performance of hers. I still like her though, and I hope she makes it in the Top 12, but she is making some demonic faces right now. She’s creeping me out a little bit. But she played the mandolin, cute! Randy and Ellen loved it. Kara said she made Patsy Cline feel current. Simon said it didn’t have the WOW factor. To vote for Lilly, call 1-866-IDOLS-08.

Ok, I can’t hear them sing but in Lacey’s picture here, her eyes look like she is in some alien movie.
I’m also pretty sure that Siobhan looks so relaxed in her pic because she is in some psychotic trance. Is that a kitten she is holding next to her chest?

I liked it a lot! I like the original too, but I thought it was pretty. But I like singers like Feist and Regina Spektor and those types, so I thought it was good.

I don’t think I will watch the show anymore. It is a travesty of justice that Lilly was voted off tonight. Alex shouldn’t have been either, but really when it came down to Lilly and Katie I thought, “here we go”, they will shock us by picking the clear cut worst contestant over one of the top 3 (girls and guys). I don’t see how America voted for Katie over Lilly.
