Who got voted off American Idol 2011 Season 10

So, Katie Stevens was first up, and she did a Kelly Clarkson song, which is pretty much what everybody’s been telling her to do without coming out and telling her to do. Here’s the thing about it. Her sound was mixed wrong. They had her voice out too much without enough backing music, and it sounded wrong. I think anybody would have sounded wrong with that mix. Even with it, I don’t think she did too bad. I like her. I hope she sticks around.

Siobhan Magnus was next, and they had her mixed perfectly, and she rocked my face off.  I still think she’s creepy, but man can that girl sing.  Simon, too thinks she’s weird.  He usually agrees with me.  I do think it’s cool Siobhan sang “The House Of the Rising Sun,”

Lacey Brown was up after Siobhan, and as you know I have not been a fan since she got started on this show.  I was rooting with her because she got jocked by Corkery last year, but she’s continued to underwhelm me (and downright horrify me at least once) this season.  She did better tonight, and she’s really cute, but I don’t think she belongs on this show.  She’s not up to par with any of the other female contestants.

Katelyn Epperly stank up “I Feel The Earth Move” after that.  It was cheesy.  She’s better than that, even thought she cheeses at the camera too much.  The feedback was mostly negative.  I am worried for her.  She might be the sacrificial lamb.

Didi Benami sang next, and I really don’t like “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac very much.  What?  Shoot me.  I just don’t like it.  She did a really good job.  I hope she stays in based on that performance.

Paige Miles was up next and she did “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin.  She was pitchy and sounded a little like she had a cold.  Her voice was shaking all over the place.  What happened, Paige?  You’re so good!  Why do you pick the total wrong song every time?  I still love you.  I hope you stick around.

Crystal Bowersox did “Gimme One Reason” by Tracy Chapman and she mixes it up going a little agro and folksy and I LOVED IT.  She’s very talented. And she said “Hell Yeah” at the end.

Lilly Scott did a little Patsy Cline, which is always good.  I don’t know how I feel about her Lillifying “I Fall to Pieces” but at least she’s consistent.  I guess Patsy’s off limits in my book.  She did well anyway, but I don’t know if her thing + this song = a good thing.  For me?  I didn’t like it so much for her for me.

Crystal definitely did the best, and Paige definitely did the worst, but I’m hoping Paige gets some votes to stay on.  She’s got a great and powerful voice, it just hasn’t found the right song yet.

I don’t know, folks.  Lilly is some weird little anomaly.  She’s not the most talented, but she’s not the least talented.  Technically and vocally she is the second-least talented.  VOCALLY.  Sheesh.  She has that Lilly thing and I think it will.  But on vocal talent, she is not as strong as any contestant save Lacey.  I think Lacey is the least talented, Siobhan and Paige probably have the most powerful voices, Katie has a less powerful voice than Siobhan or Paige, but more control than both, and a more powerful voice than Katelyn or Didi, but not as much control as they have. Katelyn and Didi are both very pretty and have nice voices, but not as good or strong as Siobhan, Paige, or Katie, but more control than all of the above.  But they don’t have the right mix of crazy great voices and confidence.  Crystal has it all.  She’s crazy talented, has great stage presence and confidence.  Confidence is key.  I think Simon’s right.  This whole thing is Crystal’s to lose, at this point.  What do you think?
