Michael Lynche found out his wife was in labor when he was supposed to sing, but ultimately, he chose Simon over his new baby and sang his heart out. He sang “Waiting on the World to Change” by John Mayer at American Idol 9’s Hollywood Week for the first cut. He pretty much nailed it!

Isn’t Big Mike the guy that got eliminated because his father told an Orlando newspaper that his son had gotten into the top 24?
