Angela Martin has tried out three times for American Idol and has been given the golden ticket each time. However, after her first shot at making it, her father was murdered, so she had to drop out. The second time, she had to leave because there was a warrant for her to appear in court regarding a traffic ticket. After last night’s audition in Chicago, I was really hoping this would be the charm for her. But alas, tragedy has reared its ugly head for Angela once more. Her mother, after spending Christmas dinner with Martin, left to meet her other daughter, and has been missing ever since.
According to Radar Online:
On New Year’s Eve police found Viola’s car near the south suburbs of Riverdale and Dixmoor, nowhere near her planned Christmas day destination.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com Glenwood Police Records Clerk Kim Johnston confirms the story, going on to say, “To my knowledge, she is still missing. I haven’t talked to the investigator about it, and I don’t know what they’ve done. But as far as I am concerned, she is still missing.”
So, is American Idol a curse for Angela Martin, or are things just not meant to be for her on this front? Will she have to drop out again? This is the last year she can try out, isn’t it? I sincerely hope her mother is found alive and she is able to fulfill her dreams…this girl deserves to have her cake and eat it too.

She didn’t have to drop out. According to the spoilers for the season, she was cut.

Well, that sucks, but at least she didn’t have to drop out again. I really hate that about her mother…and her father’s murder!

Seems it is just not meant to be. Given the tragedy within her family, would be best to stay home and focus on her loved ones namely her daughter. Prayerfully her mother will be found but given the amount of time that has passed not likely. Such sad news.

What a mistake to cut this talented, dedicated woman who showed an incredible voice, stage presence, determination and hunger for this chance. What a positive outlook. With all the issues on her plate she remained focused and sparkled like a crystal note of shear talent. She deserved to move to the top 24Plain and simple she should be there. Big mistake.
