Tonight, another Idol hopeful will be sent packing.  But as we know, at this point, it doesn’t matter where you place.  Chris Daughtry finished fourth, while Taylor Hicks won, and we all know how that turned out!  And I just wanted to go ahead and state something else for the record, for any of the haters out there.  Just because someone doesn’t like Adam Lambert, it doesn’t make them a homophobe.  Just like just because someone doesn’t like Obama, it doesn’t make them racist.  And in all honesty, it’s not that I don’t like Lambert. I actually quite enjoyed his performance of “Tracks of My Tears”, I didn’t hate “Mad World”, and I kind of look forward to seeing what kind of antics he’ll bring with every performance.  I’m an entertainment blogger, so if I were a homophobe, wouldn’t I be in the completely wrong line of work? I mean, half of my e-friends are lewd, flamboyant, and openly gay men.  Do I think Adam is too flamboyant? Not really!  I mean, who doesn’t love Elton John? And I am not ashamed to say that I frequently jam out to Mika, and I have purchased two Scissor Sisters CDs.  Doesn’t get any gayer than the Scissor Sisters, people.  So no, I am not homophobic by any stretch of the imagination. And I don’t dislike Adam. What I dislike is the judges trying to cram him down everyone’s throat and falling all over themselves like he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.  He isn’t. At least not to me, anyway.  Give me Freddie Mercury anyday!  Now, I welcome all who disagree with me, but all these “YOU JUST H8 ADAM B/C UR A HOMOFOBE N U SUCKKK!!!!!!1111″ comments are just a bit much. Now, back to the show!

Who will be given the boot tonight?  Danny is the latest VTFW pick, Kris will get cut based on everyone’s Office Pool picks, and DialIdol has chosen Allison as the lowest vote getter.  So, I dunno. I wouldn’t be surprised if any of those three ends up going home tonight.

ai8top4b

Tonight, we’re getting performances by Chris Daughtry, No Doubt, and…Paula Abdul?!  Does she have another new song? I shudder at the thought!  But speaking of, I just got my hair cut today, and wow. Didn’t even know that I got the Paula cut!

After a Ford promo, the Final Four do their group sing with Slash!  Slash is rockin’, but I’ve heard better from each of the four hopefuls.

Danny comments that after watching his performance last night, he laughed during the whole thing! So say we all.

Paula performs, and she has discovered…Auto Tune!  Auto Tune and lip synching.  The song is kind of like an extension to the other song, “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”…something about dancing and how she’s just here for the music.  One thing we can say about her, she’s still pretty agile for a 50-year-old woman, or however old she is.

Next is No Doubt, looking just like they did back in the day when they did “I’m Just a Girl”.  They sound great though and have a great energy.  What’s not to love about Gwen Stefani?

Finally, some teasing results!  Who is the first sent to safety?  Kris!  Wow, didn’t see that one coming!  All I can say is, whoo hoo! Sure, he’s not the greatest singer of all time, but I like his song choices and he seems pretty likable.  He’s the dark horse to win this thing, and I’m one to root for the underdog.

No more teasing for now, as former Idol #4 Chris Daughtry takes the stage.  I’m not a fan, but he seems like such a nice guy!  He kept refering to his music by saying “we” and “the band” blah blah blah, like we don’t know that it wouldn’t matter who was playing drums behind him, he’d still be a quadruple-platinum record-selling artist.

Six minutes left in the show, and they have a lot of results to get to!  The next person sent to safety is…Adam.  So, it’s down to Allison and The Gokemeister.  And sadly, it’s not Croaky, but Allison who is getting sent home.  But she’s so cute and is a great talent, so I don’t think the road will end here for her!  So, the final three: Adam, Gokey, and Kris.  And with the continuation of Gokey/Kris votes getting split, Adam has a very good choice of winning of this thing.

So goodbye Allison; we’ll miss you!  What did you think of tonight’s elimiations?

Just ignore the stupid comments some people make. Like who you like and dont like who you dont like. We all have our own opinions and we are entitled too. Doesnt make you a hater so just ignore…

  • 2 kimmie // May 6, 2009 at 10:49 pm

I do no agree with tonight’s vote off, I think she is much better than Kris, Sorry Kris!!

  • 3 Pat // May 6, 2009 at 11:03 pm

I think America has a love/hate relationship with Simon. I have noticed when you are on that stage and you rebuff Simon’s comments, you simply do not get America’s votes. When I heard Allison rebuff Simon last night, I knew she was a gonner, even though she was MUCH BETTER than Kris. Same thing happened with Lil Rounds.

I usually don’t watch the eliminations, so when I googled who got voted off tonight I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was Allison and not Kris who went home. Sure, the girl has talent, but she bothers me to the extreme (same with Adam, but honestly, I don’t have any naive hopes of him getting anything but number one).

Don’t bother with the people who think you’re a homophobe. You don’t have to explain or defend yourself to haters, especially for something ridiculous like ‘Oh, you don’t like Adam, you must be a gay-hater.’ People like to toss around stuff like that to shut you up, sort of like the ‘racist’ card… which I was pleased to see you also mentioned in regards to Obama.

Thanks for your blog, it’s entertaining.

America got it sooo wrong…unfortunately I believe AI voters can be a bit discriminatory, because there is no reason why Allison was not in the top 3. Is it because she is hispanic, I hope not.

Kris, sounded horrible last night and his vocals were not enough to be in the top 3…I love Danny and Adam and believe they deserved to be in the top spot.

I’ve said it for years, the judges should have more say in the votes maybe 50%?

    Love ur blog…

WTF!!!!! America’s got it wrong!! Allison was so much better than Adam last nite!! Gokemeister shoud have been sent home!!

  • 7 MARY JEAN // May 6, 2009 at 11:29 pm

    Sad, Sad, Sad
Thought for sure it would be Kris..shoulda been
Well, there is still next week
    Danny is the best !

  • 8 sfrujjl // May 6, 2009 at 11:37 pm

Allison is soo much better than Kris!!!!!! He’s not even cute, so idk why people like him!

  • 9 Serenity // May 6, 2009 at 11:42 pm

Hmm. I was hoping Allison would last longer than Kris, but we all know it doesn’t really matter anyway. The Finale is going to come down to Adam and Danny, and from there, I honestly have no idea who’ll win.

Adam is without question the most talented contestant, and I’m getting rather fed up with these comments about him being gay. We don’t know that for sure! Unless he comes out, he can’t call it fact. He might actually be bisexual. I’ve seen photos and videos where he was tongue kissing two women and was on a date with a girl. Why is his sexual orientation so important? He’s the best, that’s all that matters.

I love Danny so much, but honestly, Adam is just better. They’re both incredibly talented and will most definitely go far in their careers. If Adam deserves to win, but if Danny does, I’m okay too. I know people are going to be fighting each other to get to him and have him sign a contract with them even if he doesn’t win.

Well, I’m guessing this is Kris’s last week then. Oh well. Let’s just wait and see what his final performance will be.

I think that thou shalt not have false idols before your god.

  • 11 // May 7, 2009 at 12:48 am

that just ruined my night. i was hoping danny would go home. there’s just something about him i do not like, but kris isn’t the best either. i’ve just always loved kris’ choice in songs. but ehh, my hopes are down the drain. ’cause i know i’m not gunna see allison and addam as the final two. sad night. when addam wins though, he’d be silly not to do a duet with allison on his first album! (:

  • 12 Drr738 // May 7, 2009 at 12:57 am

I can’t believe this! As far as I’m concerned allison and danny are the only 2 that belong in this compatition. I’m so tired of everyone giving Adam all the credit when he’s absolutely horable. There hasn’t been one performance that has been amazing. I’m starting 2 believe that our votes don’t count. It’s all setup! Let me see a black person has won, country has won, guy and gel have both won what’s let?????? If adam does win this year I will never watch amerian idol again!

  • 13 Skyy // May 7, 2009 at 1:30 am

How can Adam be ‘horable’ when you can’t even spell the word properly? I think Kris should have been eliminated, but it is up to the fans. And I am always blown away by the range and control Adam has and the variations of the songs he chooses. He truly is amazing and will probably win. As far as you Drr738, American Idol won’t miss you watching it.

  • 14 nikkiknowsit // May 7, 2009 at 1:37 am

Goodbye drr738, sorry but Adam has it in the bag. I am not a homophobe, but I still do not think that an “American idol” should be gay, or bisexual. Just because half the population are gay, still doesn’t make it right, and certainly should not be idolized….even though Adam has by far the best vocals.

  • 15 blah70 // May 7, 2009 at 1:56 am

Yep, the master of mediocrity (Kris) should have been eliminated tonight. Allison has the foundations for being a great artist and should have received a homecoming trip while Kris should just be going home. He’s had his moments in the past, but he’s forgettable.

  • 16 CaitHagar // May 7, 2009 at 4:39 am

Lyk oh em gee jebbica, u r totaly a homofob.
Oh well, we love you for who you are. Or some of us. O_O?

I could not BELIEVE Allison got voted out. Kris and Danny suck and we all know Adam is going to win, but still. She is soo talented. I’m sure she will get picked up, and she might be better off not winning. Oh well, it is what it is. : (

I’m going to vote for the worst now. Which would be D!

For the Record. You are so special. YOU have JESUS CHRIST commenting on your blog post. Epic!

  • 17 Tom Cat // May 7, 2009 at 7:57 am

Simon gave Allison the ” Kiss of Death ” . She is so talented where Kris is a BORE . His singing should be relegated to the local choir!!! There is nothing original about him and he is forgettable.
Adam is the hottest thing to hit AI . Danny is also good but pales in the presence of Adam . You all need to get over the sexual preference thing , the voice is what’s on trial .

  • 18 Jebbica // May 7, 2009 at 11:44 am

LOL @ Cait Hagar! I know, right? I didn’t even know Jesus was that web-savvy! X-)

So, speaking of racist, America has put three white guys into the top spots, and all of the girls, Hispanics, African Americans, Indians, and blind guys are at home twiddling their thumbs. What is this, take one step forward and two steps back? I’m going to make my own Idol and enter it into next year’s show; it will have Scott’s eyes, Matt’s wart, Allison’s hair, Lil’s sassyness, Anoop’s skin color, and Normund Gentle’s sparkly shirt. You’re already ready to vote, aren’t ya? :p

  • 19 // May 7, 2009 at 12:08 pm

I get that homophobe thing all the time & so what! I’m not a fan of Adam Lambert. Why is that so hard for people to take. Anyhow, given the performances ALlison did do better than Kris, but overall Kris has been bringing it. It’s too close to call. I guess I look at the bigger picture. They will all be successful out there in some way or some form, while I will still be at home poor. haha :)

  • 20 Tom Cat // May 7, 2009 at 12:23 pm

They were put there because of their talent and not their race!!!! If there is continual reference to gender preference and race you are inviting the homophobe comments. This is a singing contest not a preference contest.

  • 21 // May 7, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Allison shouldn’t have been voted off. :[ I was sooo looking forward to perhaps a showdown between her and Adam. It woulda been awesome. I love Danny, his story is one of my favorites, but I thought he’d kinda reached an epitome of talent…. Kris as well. He’s sweet, and a great singer, but I just don’t see him winning. Allison would’ve been the best to win this season.

    :b p/m

  • 22 Jebbica // May 7, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Cat: it was just a joke! As in reference to the silly Vote for the Worst comments about America being racist. Just pure silliness. After all, it’s American Idol, not the GOP Convention. We are allowed to have fun here!

  • 23 // May 7, 2009 at 12:41 pm

OMG! When I was watching the results my jaw dropped down when Kris Allen was chosen to move to the saved side!!! As soon as I heard Kris Allen, I was getting ready to go and cry because my Danny was going to go home. So you can imagine how excited I was to see Allison go home. She’s great, Kris should have gone home before her. She will also probably still get a record deal, I mean, come on, she’s 17 and has pipes!!! Sorry all you Kris Allen lovers, but he should be out. But hey, 2 more weeks and we will know the winner. Which is more than likely going to be Adam Lambert. Oh how I wish Danny Gokey would win, but I just don’t see it in the stars. GO GO GO GOKEY!!! :)

  • 24 // May 7, 2009 at 12:42 pm

=( I am highly upset with the results. I believe it should have been Kris. But, then again, if it weren’t for events like this, people would expect this show to be predictable and therefore would not get as many viewers as it does… GG American entertainment… Well at least I can still root for Adam.

  • 25 Nancy // May 7, 2009 at 1:04 pm

This is supposed to be a singing contest, not a popularity contest. There is no way Danny sang better than Allison. IMO Allison has been consistently in the bottom 3 because she’s not “hot” or appealing to many viewers, for some reason., but at least her Rat Pack week performance wowed the majority. So why the big switch? After Danny & Kris sang together, Danny shrieked as if a truck just drove over his foot, and Kris wrecked a classic Beatles song, I was sure one of them would be voted off, mainly Danny. Allison made no mistakes at all, so either the show is all planned or the voters have no taste. You decide.

  • 26 sam // May 10, 2009 at 7:18 am

    wat?
my stupid uncle made me miss the results show.
only watched it up to the part where paula sings
how could america have got rid of allison.
if she stayed it would have been the best final american idol have ever had.
this season had the best singers actually make it through to the end.
kris seems like a nice guy but he should have gone and allison should have stayed even though i wasnt expecting her to win.
wat are most of you talking about. danny deserves to go to the final. ive been a fan from the beginning. hes got a great voice. its just his song choice got boring halfway through.
and wat was up with the scream. i laughed my head off.
adams definately going to win and he deserves to unless the americans go temporarily insane.
but danny should be 2nd place.
hey do any of you remember jamal. you know dannys friend. y didnt he make it. he was good.
i was humming his version of hey there delilah for weeks afterwards
