Jim Ranger is a father and pastor who wrote his own song to sing at the American Idol 9 Los Angeles auditions. The song was called “Drive”. Jim seemed likable and I really appreciate the fact that he wrote his own song, but he was just a bit too Danny Gokey soundwise for me. Guest judge Avril Lavigne handed him a bit of a reality check and gave him a “no”, but he was through to Hollywood nonetheless.

I loved Jim Ranger and the song he did. I think having a family would inspire him more. His wife was soooooooooooo happy for him and he’s been married for 7 years and shows that he is a young man that knows what committment can be not always easy, but worthwhile. I hope to watch Jim on America idol have my texting ready…Joann

I loved Jim Ranger especially after search for his music and video’s and hearing the harmony and rhythem of the music. Drive is an awesome song I could so imagine hearing on the radio already. He plays lead for a band called Soulajar. He cover’s Aint no Sunshine, and Use me Up. I love this guys voice, watch out for this guy.
