American Idol Judge Jennifer Lopez

One of American Idol Season 10‘s new judges is none other than Jennifer Lopez, also known as J-Lo. Jennifer started out her career as a dancer on the comedy/variety show In Living Color. In 1997 she landed the leading role in the Selena, the biographical film about Selena Quintanilla-Perez – an up-and-coming Mexican-American singer who was murdered at the tender age of 23. Roger Ebert called Lopez’s performance a “breakout” and the role launched Lopez into stardom.

She went on to star in Out of Sight with George Clooney, and then released her debut album On the 6 in 1999. Her second album came out in 2001, and sold eight million copies worldwide. She’s released five studio albums, including an album that was completely in Spanish.

Puerto Rican Jennifer Lopez was born and raised in the Bronx, hence her song “Jenny From the Block,” and she has become a role model for girls of Hispanic origin as well as aspiring musicians, songwriters, singers, and actors of all genders and different ethnicity.

Jennifer Lopez brings her vast musical and industry experience to the American Idol judging scene, and critics and fans have called her “the sober man’s Paula Abdul.” This is because Lopez brings humanity and sympathy to the table, but does it in a succinct and totally clear way, unlike our beloved dippy Paula.

So far this season, Jennifer has had a little trouble saying the word “no,” but she is getting better as the auditions progress. We expect good things once the contest gets narrowed down to the Top 40 and beyond.

Once upon a time you were a true individual and that was the appeal. Now, it’s so transparent that fame and fortune have done more harm to your image which was a spirited and soulful being.

So sad to view pics, commercials, fashion choices inappropriate for the aging years of which are experienced by everyone. Miss who you were; don’t know who you are or perhaps what you’re trying for these days.

One certainty is that you are not a suitable judge for American Idol 2012 or previously 2011. So much failure regarding the deserving contestants. Clearly, it is NOT America’s vote that counts!
