voted off American Idol 5-14-08
There are three candidates left on American Idol, David Cook, David Archuleta and Syesha Mercado. The Live Voted Off Results for the May 14, 2008 will air from 9PM EST to 10 PM EST. We will have the results of who was voted off American Idol LIVE on this blog and in this post.
Everyone ans there brother is saying that Syesha Mercado will be voted off tonight, and more than likely that will be the case. But never assume to much when it comes to Idol Producers and May Sweeps week shockers, as one of the David’s in a slim chance may be voted off tonight.
Live Show:
Ryan Seacrest Announced that Over 56 Million Votes were cast. Next we see season 3 Fantasia performing.
Ryan calls David Archuleta to the stage to find out his fate. We get to see video of David A’s hometown trip over the past weekend. After a recap of the judges comments we get a video tour of David Archuleta’s Idol Journey from Auditions to now.
( Thanks Idol Producers, so I assume the same scenario will go for David Cook and Syesha Mercado with video recaps of Hometown Visit, Judges Comments and Video Recap of their Idol Experience. - That being the case, I will just hit the imaginary fast forward button and come back for the actual Results)

The American Idol Finals will start will performances on Tuesday May 20, 2008 and the Announcement of the American Idol Final winner on Wednesday May 21, 2008 5-21-08.

Last year, everyone thought Chris D would be in the final 2, but he was voted off at 3. So a surprise wouldn’t be unusual tonight, but….. who’s really expecting a surprise? They’ve been priming us for the final two the entire season.

Since the Top 16, it’s looked like a David Vs David Showdown, and that is the expectation anyway.
But then again I never hold it past the Idol Powers That BE to throw a Shocker at us to keep the Buzz going. Last year it was Melinda Dolittle getting the earlier than expected boot in the 3 spot setting up Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks.
Will be interesting, we’ll see.

I would actually find an upset tonight to be more thrilling that what is expected, because the expected has been programmed into viewers for all these weeks now…. but then again, even if Syesha made it to the top 2, the producers wouldn’t let her win….

Exactly Sharon, If it’s a David Vs Syesha it’s a Total Landslide David Win. David A has been promoted since day one, David Cook has been pumped up since about Top 14 Week.
A David Archuleta vs Syesha Mercado showdown would be a true set up to make David Archuleta the winner. And the Buzz of David Cook being gone.
All indications of votes and predictions say Syesha will be voted off American Idol… but who knows..

I think David Cook deserves to win, but it would be, as Randy Jackson says, “Just OK - Alright” if David Archuleta took the Season 7 crown.

I think you’re right, if we’re talking music talent. If we’re talking likability, David A. If you’re talking talent and likability at a slightly less level, Syesha. But when I think of who needs to the win the most in order to jump start a career? David A. Cook can do it on his own, easily. And Syesha can go to Broadway tomorrow. David is so young, a win might be necessary for him, otherwise, he’ll be just the cute one that was good, but not always exciting.

They like Cook coz he’s sooo unique. I hope Amanda , Michael and Carly didn’t got booted off coz I like their rock styles better than cook’s. I love Archie.. He has it all going on. He took it like a man and he is brilliant and a master class in singing in diff. ways. I want him to take the crown. He’s awesome and thats acceptable to hollywood.
