The Idols are down to four! The remaining contestants are singing songs from the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. They are singing two songs again tonight, but they’re sparing Paula from another mishap and are judging after each song!

David Cook is first and is singing “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran. Randy said it was “okay”, Paula said his “hungry like the wolf” has left her with a “big appetite”, and Simon said it was good but a little bit copycat. David C’s #s are 01 and 05.

Syesha Mercado is second. She’s singing “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. Randy thought she was “in da zone”, Paula said she made magic happened, and Simon said it was a bad shrieky version and impersonation of Tina Turner. Syesha’s #s are 02 and 06.

Jason Castro is third. He’s singing “I Shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley. Randy said it was really karaoke and bad, Paula wasn’t crazy about it but she was won over anyway, and Simon thought it was utterly atrocious . Jason’s #s are 03 and 07.

David Archuleta is last but not least and is singing “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. Randy said at least there’s one guy who’s good every time and “the dude was hot”, Paula said he is way beyond his years, and Simon thought he could have whistled and it would have been better than Jason’s performance. David A’s #s are 04 and 08.

Round 2 after the jump!

Round 2: David Cook sings “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who. Randy said he was back to his old self, Paula says she wants more David Cook, and Simon says “welcome back David Cook!”

Round 2: Syesha Mercado is up again and is singing “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. Randy said he didn’t love it, Paula gave her a standing ovation and said her vocals were beautiful, and Simon said he needed to be fair and he had to agree with Paula.

Round 2: Jason Castro again and is singing “Mr. Tambourine Man” by Bob Dylan. After talking about how much he loved Bob Dylan, he forgot the words!! Jason, your time has been up for awhile now! Randy said he’s obviously off tonight, Paula said it didn’t blow her away but HE blew her away, and Simon said “pack your bags Jason!” Amen Simon!!

Round 2:  David Archuleta closes the show with “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley (cover by Norah Jones).  Randy said he was tender,  Paula said it was one of his best performances, and Simon said he didn’t just BEAT the competition, he CRUSHED it!

Final verdict:  Best:  David Archuleta

Worst:  Jason Castro…tonight’s performances wouldn’t have even gotten him a ticket to Hollywood!

So, who’s going home tomorrow?
