Well the ride ended on American Idol for ~~former Gay Stipper~~, Pizza maker David Hernandez as he was voted off American Idol on March 12, 2008 instead of the “Dolly Parton on Helium” Kristy Lee Cook. Was it just one weak performance on 3-11-08 show or his “exposed past” that was his downfall?

The truth is that David Hernandez has talent. The truth is also that he was voted off due to the rumors of his being gay and that he is a former male stripper at a gay men’s club. It is so obvious. He had more than enough talent to justify his continuation in the show.

We learned from the 3-12-08 show that once again the Theme for next weeks, 3-18-08 performance show will be songs from the John Lennon / Paul McCartney Beatles collection.

Randy Jackson in an interview said that one of this seasons mentors would be Maria Carey while excectuive producer Nigel Lythgoe said their would be only 4 celebrity mentors or coaches on this years American Idol Season 7.

ET Online Reports that David Archuleta’s father acting as a stage dad may have effected his miserable David Archuleta American Idol 3-11-08 performance on the 3-12-08 show:

Was there more than just nerves behind 17-year-old David Archuleta’s shaky performance on last night’s “American Idol”?

Sources are telling ET the singer may be feeling the pressure from his “stage father” JEFF ARCHULETA, who reportedly yelled at David during a recording session Monday. Sources say Dad wasn’t happy with his son’s singing — and even brought him to tears. Neither Jeff nor reps for “American Idol” would comment on the alleged incident.

Comments about David Taking the Dive or messing up on purpose are as follows:

I have to agree that he “took a dive” for obvious reasons. David is too good (as evidenced by his previous performances). He has sung like a professional since he was a little kid and has a huge talent. Don’t let tonight fool you. I look forward to the outstanding future performances ahead - just wait. I sat there thinking the same thing…he’s trying too hard not to sing good tonight. I’m not a tween or young kid either - all I know is that was not the real David on Idol last night. I will be among the first in line to buy your CD.

Others blamed the arrangement or him being sick for the bad performance:

I actually thought the arrangement was pretty good, and if David had been going 100% it would have been a real good performance.

And I can’t believe it was a “melt down” - come on, the guy is super-experienced, also with the bigger stages. A planned melt-down … maybe …

But instead, I think he was sick - try to take a look at his eyes and his facial expression. Also, if you listen to the top-12-interview from a few days ago, he sounds really sick.

What I like about him, is that he doesn’t come up with any excuses afterwards … nothing like “I’ve been sick all week …” as we have heard from some of the other contestants. He just stands there recognizing the judges opinions.

Also News about the American Idol Finals at the NOKIA Theather were released with the final on 5-21-08

AMERICAN IDOL will host the series’ two-night grand finale from a new home at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE Tuesday, May 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) and Wednesday, May 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. After weeks of performing on the American Idol stage, the two remaining finalists will perform live Tuesday in front of a theater audience of over 7000 as well as millions of viewers watching at home. Then, on Wednesday night, at the end of a two-hour music celebration, Ryan Seacrest will announce the next AMERICAN IDOL.
