American Idol Top 12 March 11 2008 Performance Recap Review
The American Idol Top 12 took the bigger and better improved Idol Stage on 3-12-08 to sing songs from the John Lennon / Paul McCartney Collection i.e The Beatles.
Ryan Seacrest was usually giddy and seemed overly happy. I doubt Idol has a drug test, but Ryan seemed to be on performance enhancing substance.
First to take the Stage for the Idol Top 12 on 3-11-08 was Syesha Mercado. After her intro video in
which she informed us about her mother being a singer and her studies at FUI, Syesha sang the Beatles song “Got to get you into my life” from the 1966 Revolver Album. During her performance I was expecting to see the “Solid Gold Dancing” making there way on stage, but dashing my hopes, they did not.
American Idol Judge Randy Jackson thought, ” Nice arrangement, started rough, Pitchy but in the middle you got into it. You are still thinking Vocally though, It was alright.”
Paula Abdul added, ” You are a good singer, you found your zone. You sounded great midway through to the end”
Simon Cowell added, ” It was better than alright Randy, Great choice of song, you looked nervous, but it was better than last week.”
Second on the Idol Stage was Chikezie Eze who informed us of his TSA baggage screener handling past at LAX. Chikezie sang the Beatles’ classic ” She’s a Women” and nailed it. It was probably the best song of the night.
Randy Jackson said, ” I was throughly entertained. Love the Arrangement. It was Dope. Chikezie Smashed it.”
Paula added, ” This is what I was talking about taking a risk and getting a Reward. Your Reward Paid off.
Simon Said, ” I am surprised I have to agree with those 2, what I love about it, is that you changed within a week, You took control, you were unique, You were Terrific.” You Just Secured yourself a Spot. It is also worth an I-Tune Download!
Ryan Seacrest then went into a 3 minute celebration dance with Chikezie that looked extremely awkward and left Ryan out of breathe to announce the upcoming commercial.

After the Break, Ryan Seacrest actually looked High. His facial expressions and eyes were distorted to sa y the least.
Ramiele Malubay took the stage to sing the Song “In My Life“, while the fans or teenage girls in the
new Idol mosh pit waved their arms back and forth. An annoying trend that will continue throughout the evening with various choreographed hand jesters include clapping in rhythm at the wrong times.
Randy Jackson thought, “Kinda pretty, Kinda Pretty Boring. It just laid their for me.
Paula added, ” you look lovely. it was a pretty safe song. Your voice allows you to go many places, but on this song you didn’t. ”
Simon added, ” Bored to tears throughout the entire performance. Dreary Song Choice. Forgettable and Boring. I expect a lot better from you and your are better than that.

Up Forth was Dread Head Jason Castro with his guitar to sing “If I Fell”. It was really good.
Randy said, ” I liked it, I didn’t love it, I like the flats, it was alright”
Paula added, ” I disagree with Randy, what is so special I feel your heart, it made your truly unique. You don’t have to do all the lyrics and runs.
Simon added, “It was a little bit Student in a Bedroom at Midnight, it was boring. You have to choose songs that fit you. But you were good enough to stay this week.

Carly Smithson came up in the fifth spot and sang the John Lennon / Paul McCartney song “Come Together” which was truly amazing and worth an I-tune Download
Randy thought, “That felt amazing, strong, confident sounded amazing, stellar performance.”
Paula said, “I was already watching a star, You are truly awesome!”
Simon Said, ” Week after week you chose the wrong song until now. That was like 6 years ago at this spot with Kelly Clarkson” He also gave her a wink that camera caught. Obviously Simon Loved it.

Simon Said,” I thought again this one of the best of the night. Brilliant choice of song, 3 weeks running.”
After Brooke came David Hernandez with “I Saw Her Standing There ” and looked a bit like Pee
Wee Herman with his outfit and dancing all over the place.
Randy Said, “Big voice, but with a simple song it was overdone, a lot of Dancing, and jumping, just too much going on”
Paula said, “It didn’t work well, You know I love yoru voice, but over did it, you need to scale back – too many runs”
Simon Said, ” No No No , Corny, it was a Rabbit in Headlights, not a strong performance sorry”
Amanda Overmyer was up in the 9th slot and sang, “You Can’t Do That“.

Randy said, “That is making of a great song, you brought it down to a souther bar style, and rocked it out, Very Cool”
Paula said, “you were smiling and having fun, you are a star up there”
Simon said, “not as good as last week, hard to understand at times, shouting and slurring, but the good thing is you are a breathe of fresh air to this competition.”
Michael Johns came up 10th and sang “Across the Universe”
Randy said ” it was good, but waiting for something big, it was ok for me, a little slow”
Paula said, “I disagree with randy, you take inner strenght and do nothing but sing Brilliantly. Brilliant performance”
Simon said, “ I agree with Randy, you should have done something brilliant, it was solid, it was good, you need to get a song and go Big”

Kristy Lee Cook went country with “8 days a Week” and fell flat on her face with her rendition and performance. Simon called it “Dolly Parton on Helium“, Paula, “Didn’t get it” and randy was “Half and half about it”
David Archuleta had the final slot, the prime spot and attempted “We Can Work It Out“. He fell flat on his face as well with forgetting the words 3 times. Simon said, “that was a mess, all over the place, worst performance so far”
We think he did it on purpose and you can see why here
