I was a Contestant, Pure HELL, They came to my house for the in home interview, and Simion say’s he was being fair when he tell people off? I want to know this, If They thought I was a talented boob why was his Camera Crew Sent to my house? Are you being Honest with me Simion, that My talent isn’t for your show, Or is this a sick sad joke where praying on human emotions is claimed to be good television? Was it the 1960’s image that was feared by the network?

Alexis, I just saw you, and you were awesome. That was your problem: you are too talented for a show like American Idol. They are looking for people with voices that fit the bubblegum, pop-garbage that is popular music nowadays. Unless you sing cookie cutter homoerotic pop or so-called R&B, there is no place on American Idol for someone with a true, gritty, rock voice. Remember the supposed “rockers” from past American Idol seasons? I cannot remember their names, because they would have been rock singers in bubblegum rock bands. You need to find a real rock band to sing for. You oughta ask the band Clutch if you can sing something with them. Now THAT would be a helluva team! Your presence is awesome, your voice was ripping, and you will make it someday, somewhere! You can hit me back at ericvonripp @ gmail DOT com. Peace.

This is to Alexis:
I’m from Media, PA - about 15 miles west of Philly. Alexis, I think the judges did you a favor in calling you out. You’re WAY too GOOD for that show! Your talent and charisma would be exploited by the fox news media, and it might have been really bad for you. Honestly, take that gift you have on the road, girl. Don’t waste it on acting - your voice is freaking incredible!! Have you ever sung “Summertime”? I’ll be you’d do Janis Joplin proud, girl. Pop in a bunch of Velvet Underground CDs and go nuts. I love your individualism, and don’t listen to people who say they wouldn’t trust you as a vet. Anyone who understands and loves animals is more a humanitarian than the most of us.
If you ever want to get some philly gigs, I know a few people who can hook you up. Just hit me with an e-mail. I play the `cello and piano myself, so you let me know if you ever want to rock out. And don’t let Simon get to you - he’s just a grouchy old man who can’t get laid because he’s too busy listening to himself squeal with his thumb up his ass.
Peace!
Sarah

I tried to talk to you nicely and that is excatly how you acted.

Alexis,
You might want to look at checking into Penn-Hurst, even though it is a “Condemded Mental Asylum”. You need serious help young lady, and not just in your singing. I think you owe Simon an apology…
37 Esti // Jan 16, 2008 at 1:41 am
ALEXIS, I just saw you, and your AMAZING voice and delivery impressed me SO MUCH!
I actually entered your name and ID number into my cell phone to look you up online. You are FANTASTIC. O.K., I’m not a judge, but I have perfect pitch, and your voice is RIGHT ON. I get nauseated from most singing because it goes off pitch, but your voice cut right through. Please don’t let Simon’s jaded conventionality put you down. You are destined for much more than he can see.
I am betting that there will be agents looking for you. Obviously, if a non-TV kind of person like me bothers with this, others must be impressed. Please don’t listen to those who are reacting to your persona with insults. It would be to your advantage to learn to get along with, well, idiots, but the truth is you are quite talented. You have a killer voice.
Honestly, I would like to do your makeup. You’re a pretty girl, and you could keep the glitz, just use a finer kind of glitter in selected spots. A nice white gold or pink by Make Up For Ever as a liner on your top lids, some bright earrings, a sequined top and leather jeans. It’s a lucky person who gets to be your stylist, because you have a great, trim, high-energy body and a lovely face.
It would be so much fun to take the look you have and expand on it. Shimmering ultra-glimmer nails. Shimmering bright eyes (not so much under the brow, just along the lids) and maybe a softer mouth (Laura Mercier) to offset it. Or kohl-rimmed eyes, smokey soft black, with Yves Saint Laurent Touche Brilliance for lips in brilliant champagne shimmer. And your own golden hair.
PLEASE, Alexis, put up your own website for your fans. All it took was hearing you belt out that piece by Grace Slick, and seeing a little of your energy and motivation, and I knew… you will rise above this silly American Idol thing.
I mean, come on, you have a much more powerful persona than would ever fit into the bland, commercial crooning they expect on AI. You have a touch of the Jim Morrison, Patti Smith level of fire, there. It’s too bad they didn’t keep you on for some diversity on the show, but you will succeed. You WILL succeed.
And I agree with the person who said you are WAY TOO GOOD FOR THAT SHOW.

Alexis happens to have a great voice. Under the harsh glitter, she happens to be good looking. Some of you people are still hung up on your little high school feuds with her - how pathetic is that? So you bullied her in high school. Maybe it’s you who need to get a life, now. Quite a few famous singers were bullied by idiots in school, because high school is all about conformity. So congratulations, you’re high school bullies. How’s that working for you in the adult world? Enjoy this little bubble while it lasts, because the world will kick it out of you very soon.
So what if she doesn’t have a submissive little whispery country voice like Mandy Moore or someone like that? She has a powerful voice and a powerful personality, too much personality to be molded into the generic American Idol.
Alexis, keep on singing. With the right backup band, and the right management, you will get a contract. You have a brilliant voice.

Alexis is the perfect illustration of a type: living in a fantasy world believing she has talent, and unable to tolerate reality or the people who tell her the hard truth. “How dare he” she says - how dare he tell her she’s not good enough. Truth hurts, she’s not.
49 Some Dude in the South // Jan 16, 2008 at 5:32 pm
Ok, honest, subjective opinion from some dude in the South:
I liked Alexis from what I saw of her on AI last night. She seemed like an honestly good person. Her audition was good and I think she did a great job of “sounding like” Grace Slick. I have to agree, however, that she probably wasn’t what AI was looking for as a contestant. That does not, however, belittle her singing ability (what little we heard) nor belittle herself as a unique individual!
Also, I thought she was an attractive young woman. I would have loved to have seen her without the glitter, which obviously was applied for the audition. The crass remarks about her looks are very juvenile. I certainly disagree.
Now, I think it was low down for AI to follow her to her home and spend untold amounts of time filming her just to knock her down. That’s just humiliating and took advantage of her openness.
Her reaction was a bit odd when rejected, however. Maybe it was the fact that she spent all day with an AI crew following her around and she got three “nos”. I thought the judges let her down pretty easily and I agree (whether Randy was being cynical or not) that she may have a successful run as a vocalist in a band! She admitted herself that she has never worked with professionals.
Alexis, if you’re out there, hold your head up high. My wife and I were in your corner. May all your dreams come true- especially your dream of becoming a vet. Now THAT is a goal to shoot for!
50 Girl // Jan 16, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Alexis was honestly not that bad. Some of you were a little too harsh in your posts. You have to give her props for having the guts to go on national tv and sing like she did. Well, everyone has good opinions and bad ones. I dont know why everyone has to be such an ignorant person about them though. Some of you with nasty comments obviously got on to try to win an arguement on a thread because you can’t in real life. Also take these points in consideration, because most of you dont understand.
First, the Janis Joplin song was a hard song to sing. Dont complain about other people’s singing if you cant do it right yourself. I am proud that she did as well as she did on that track. Although I think she could have picked a different one, she still did very fricken well compared to some of the others that were on.
Second. Remember that things are said off camera. The camera doesnt show every little remark or comment. TV only shows you what it wants you to see. Knowing Alexis in person, I can say that she only flips like that when she is actually convinced that her time was wasted and she was treated unfair. THe camera crew bit coming to her house and interviewing her shouldnt have happened unless she got accepted. That sort of thing brings false hope. I have personally been in the media for varoious celebrity things as well and know that pre-engagement like this sucks and kills your spirit in the end.
Third. If she wanted to flip, let her flip. I think that the editors made it a little too dramatical and showed parts that didnt really have purpose to be showed, but her performance was acceptable. Most competitions just say if you win or lose, this one says you lost and then some. If you get up and try something you worked so hard on for so long and then when you get to the judges they say you lost…and then have someone like, for example :Simon, who says. “You suck, that was horible, you’ve just ruined music for me, or I’ll give you $20 to never see you again” (I am not quoting, just referancing), you will want to say “@%#$ YOU!” too when you get out the door.
Anyway, those where some thigns that some of you have talked about that have bothered me. Someone will probably turn it around on me…Oh well. I said what I wanted to say, so at least I feel better knowing that.
Keep it up Alexis, you were great. Keep it up and maybe someday you can take me to Hollywood with you :p
Best wishes from Zeph (those who know who I am)

Alexis I just want to say I think you were totally ripped off. Yes you may have been a bit outrageous in appearance, but your voice was right on. I think that is what Simon meant when he mentioned channeling. If you closed your eyes while you sang, you could picture Grace or Janis up there. Don’t take it too personally, The judges probably would have turned them down too.
You had every right to be angry after they lead you on the way they did. It was totally unfair the way they exploited that anger!
