What a crock! Why don’t the folks at idol just send us envelopes for unwarranted donations rather than attempting to convince us that they actually require additional commercial sponsorship for at least one more week because of their negative cash flow for contributions to needy children around the world? They had us believe that Sanjaya was actually outlasting everybody because of Howard Stern et. al, now they want us to believe that America voted “Nobody Off?”.

No One was voted off this week, but two will be voted off Next Week. They made the decision not to send someone home on the Night of Charity Idol Gives Back. Not a bad idea actually.

Cody Gilbert, what is your beef? American Idol is only television entertainment, not a life decision. You can participate or not. There is something on every other channel during American Idol.

LOL !!! TOTAL B.S. !!! American Idol is trying to cover up the lack of votes by pulling this stunt. Isn’t the game tainted if the rules are changed in the Fourth Quarter ??? Is it just me, or is the timing of Sanjaya’s rigged departure just too convenient ? They knew if he made it in, they’d have to keep him around an extra week.
And what was up with all those camera shots of Sanjaya, and Simon continuing to bash Sanjaya ???
IS AMERICAN IDOL STILL TRYING TO MILK SANJAYA’S FAME ???
American Idol is a doomed enterprise. I’m sorry, but 25.7 Millon viewers is a drop of three million viewers from the previous week. That is VERY bad considering how heavily they pimped the “Idol Gives Back” show, and the amount of star power they had tonight.
IDOL – SANJAYA = 0

Kim,
Lack of Votes? 70 million votes were recorded, the most in history of the show. The rules haven’t changed, if you note, this is not a game show, and the Producers have the right to change anything at any time. Stated at the end of the show in the credits and in the contracts.
Kim Your Horse lost the race, get over it, move on, up the medication, etc. Remember this is a entertainment TV show, that did a noble thing to raise money for charity.

I can’t understand why everyone keeps talking about someone being “voted off”. You’re voting to keep someone on the show another week not vote them off. It’s not Survivor. The person with the least number of votes leaves each week. Next week we’ll say bye-bye-a to Lakisha and (hopefully) Phil.

Wow, American Idol Fan, your hipocrisy is laughable!
“Remember this is a entertainment TV show”
Then why did you go crazy when Sanjaya was on the show ???
All the people who now say “it’s just TV, get over Sanjaya”, were saying “this is a singing contest”. SO WHICH IS IT ??? ENTERTAINMENT TV SHOW ? OR SINGING CONTEST ???
No way Sanjaya goes from four consecutive weeks of not being in the bottom three to suddenly being voted off !!! NO WAY!!! Defies the laws of nature!

Hey,I love Idol, but this year really has sucked for talent. It’s there, that’s for sure. But nothing like in previous years. There were some with real talent voted off after the top 12.In my opinion,it’s these teenie boopers between the ages of 11 and 13which are deciding who makes it on to the next week.Sanjaya is a prime example.Never before in Idol history has someone so devoid of talent made it so far. It’s ruining the show, and the the culprits are these little preteens and early teens that dont give a hoot about talent, only how cute they percieve the contest is.I believe the show can only be restored to optimum success if,somehow, only adults are able to vote.Say,18 or up.The children are destroying the whole concept of what the show was suppose to accomplish.Simon is right. The show is a talent competition to find the best singer. Not a popularity contest,or beauty contest.

Randy, you are a total moroon !!! I don’t care how talented you are. If you’re ugly, YOU’RE UGLY !!! And don’t belong on TV. PERIOD.

How SHALLOW of you to think good looks is a prerequisite to appear on TV. What is this preoccupation you have with physical attributes. You are the moron, Kim.
Good looks does not always accompany talent. I would much rather have a talented singer who is not endowed with good looks than the other way around. You are exposing true ignorance.
You seem to have a hard time accepting Sanjaya’s demise on American Idol. He simply did not meet the competitions talent. You continue to dig a hole for yourself !

Kim, you need to resurrect yourself again and up your dosage.
