Gina Glocksen gets Home Town Hero Welcome

Viewers voted Gina Glocksen off “American Idol” last week, but the community of Naperville, Illinois, plans to honor her with a parade and a key to the city this week.

Glocksen lives in Naperville. Municipal officials there plan to honor her with a parade and ceremony — possibly on Wednesday. She’s due back in town Tuesday, and the timing of the event hinges on her schedule.

Glocksen was voted off the TV talent contest last Wednesday, but studio audience members booed her ouster — and fellow contestants even wept on camera.

Naperville’s homecoming plans for Glocksen are tentative because they must be approved by FOX, which still has the 22-year-old under contract.
