I like Jordin, Melinda, and Lakisha, — Sanjaya didn’t murder it this week and actually was ok. Note the scarasim from Simom on Sanjaya’s reveiw however, “Let’s try a new tactic…Incredible!” Very slick move Simon, will it pay off?

    1. Blake Lewis – “Mack the Knife.”

The vocal was smooth and jazzy and the overall performance was entertaining. What I want from Blake, though, is to get a better feeling from him that he knows the meaning behind the songs he’s singing.

    2. Phil Stacey – “Night and Day.”

This was Phil’s week to shine, as these classic tunes have his crooner voice written all over them. Well done, Phil – the Rat Pack would have been proud.

    3. Melinda Doolittle – “I’ve Got Rhythm.”

Like Simon said, there is no way to criticize Melinda. Her voice is flawless and her performances are always so entertaining as she sings us a story week after week. Here’s to 8 more weeks.

    4. Chris Richardson – “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore.”

He definitely showed some personality tonight and put a nice, current twist on an old standard. It was believable and hip – one of Chris’ strongest performances.
    5. Jordin Sparks – “On a Clear Day.”

I am astounded by the maturity in the performances this girl puts forth every week. She shows such control in her singing and she’s only 17 years old. There is joy in her voice and it shows each time she takes the stage.

    6. Gina Glocksen – “Smile.”

It was a beautiful performance, quite understated for our resident rocker, but it certainly wasn’t in the same league as her girlfriends, Melinda and Jordin.

    7. Sanjaya Malakar – “Cheek to Cheek.”

I hate to borrow a “Simonism,” but that was like some hideous Love Boat performance – and I want my money back.

    8. Haley Scarnato – “Ain’t Misbehavin’.”

Really great performance. Haley listened to Tony Bennett and she nailed it. It was a great genre for her and she put a stylish spin on it. Oh, and to judge Randy Jackson, your treatment of Haley after her performance was crueler than anything Simon has ever done. It must be hard to speak with sour grapes in your mouth.
    9. LaKisha Jones – “Stormy Weather.”

Something about the style of her singing is just a bit overdone for me. Don’t get me wrong, the girl has a great voice and she hits all the notes, it just seems like she trying too hard to jazz it up and it ends up a little over the top. Also, she should have listened to Tony Bennett – her money note was the big one at the end and she ruined it with her little “ain’t no sunshine when he’s gone” tag. Nice dress, though.

The judges have no one but themselves to blame for this terrible “thing” known as Sanjaya. They kept him the top 24. Hopefully, his “welcome to Sanjaya’s world” comment will show what a true egomaniac he is and get him booted off!!

You know guys, you should really give Sanjaya some credit tonight. He actually entertained, while the others were STATUES. He showed massive balls to dance with Paula. The nail in the coffin for me was when Tony Bennett complimented Sanjaya the way he did. You Idol Fanatics with all your Sanjaya hate were really put in your place tonight by a LEGEND. The opinions of Sanjaya Bashers compared to what Bennett had to say is really like flies buzzing around a horse’s ass. I think Phil, Gina or Haley can say good bye tomorrow.

Tony Bennet would compliment Atilla the Hun because he’s a nice person, so don’t put too much into that compliment.
He did not show massive balls like you said, he showed massive suck up.
The word incredible translated means: Not credible, and unbelievable. Yes, he was both of these.
His performance was better but fell way short of any of the other contestants including the one you think should be voted off tonight.

I think that American Idol is losing alot of there talented singers and Sanjaya is ruining the show. I think it is over due, and he needs to go home. He needs to have his bubble busted tonight, and hopefully america will send him back to his family who might enjoy his tasteless hairstyles and awful singing. Can you beleive that he actually thinks that he is good? Yea, he has massive balls to stand up in front of America and TRY to sing! PLEASE SEND HIM HOME!!!

I’m done with American Idol as are most people I talk to. Sanjaya is a joke and so is American Idol at this point. Give Melinda and Jordin their rightful place in the spotlight and quite promoting Sanjya for your profit!!!!
