American Idol 3-27 The Good, The Bad and The Bazaar Bizarre
Leave it to American Idol to continue to amaze and bewilder the audience at the same
time. We had some great songs, some weird styles and a Sanjaya Malakar Freak Out with the hair do from Hell.
The Idols and their songs:
Blake Lewis – “Love Song” by the Cure
Blake did a great job. The judges like his performance and Simon called Blake the Top Male frontrunner. Blake Lewis performed “Love Song.†Randy Jackson said “I liked it, I wasn’t jumping up and down, but I liked it.†Paula Abdul said “I think you’re the dark horse. I think you can sail in, and I would love to see you in the finale.†Simon Cowell said “Definitely, the strongest guy in the competition, Blake, that’s for sure.â€
Chris Richardson – “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt
Paula Abudl is in love with Chris. His performance was Ok, I just wasn’t feeling it Dog, Right Randy? Chris Richardson performed “Don’t Speak.†Randy Jackson said “You actually can sing the runs, so I enjoy when you do that man.†Paula Abdul said “You’re good, Chris, you’re good.†Simon Cowell said “As Randy said, I quite like the arrangement. However, I wasn’t crazy about the vocal.â€
Chris Sligh – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by the Police
Who stole Chris S. He has been missing the last few weeks, with weak song choices and weird arrangements. The judges didn’t feel Chris Sligh at all tonight. Chris Sligh performed “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.†Randy Jackson said “Rhythm-wise, man, it made it a train wreck for me.†Paula Abdul said “Vocally, it sat really nice in the tonal part of your voice so that was a good choice, but man you’ve got to hear that beat.†Simon Cowell said “I thought it was a mess to be honest with you, Chris.â€
Gina Glocksen – “I’ll Stand By You ” from the Pretenders
Gina is stepping up and it was considered her best performance to date by Simon. Gina Glocksen performed “I’ll Stand By You.†Randy Jackson said “I thought this was one of your best performances ever.†Paula Abdul said “I love the fact that you’re improving each week and you’re coming into your own as an artist.†Simon Cowell said “Gina, it wasn’t one of your best performances, it was your best performance.â€
Haley Scarnato – “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper
She looks great, sounds ok, and is a kind of look a like to Katharine Mcphee. A Wardrobe Malfunction may be necessary to propel her to the finals. Haley Scarnato performed “True Colors.†Randy Jackson said “It was just kind of alright for me.†Paula Abdul said “You held like more of an adult contemporary performance to that, and it didn’t stay younger, and I think that you should aim to be more contemporary.†Simon Cowell said “I think it was sweet but forgettable really.â€
Jordin Sparks – “Hey Baby” by No Doubt
Jordin kicked it up a notch and did a great rendition of this No Doubt hit. Jordin Sparks performed “Hey Baby.†Randy Jackson said “You could literally sing anything, you would be a great recording artist, and that was brilliant.†Paula Abdul said “I love seeing you in this kind of mode.†Simon Cowell said “I think you are probably the most improved contestant we’ve seen in terms of the last few weeks.â€
Lakisha Jones – “Last Dance” Donna Summers
Lakisha Jones is in a league of her own, but that league is dominated by Melinda Doolittle. It will be neck and neck for these two soul sisters in the finals. Lakisha Jones performed “Last Dance.†Randy Jackson said “It’s good to see you make a change and rock it.†Paula Abdul said “Donna Summers is not an easy artist to start out with, and you did her proud.†Simon Cowell said “It’s the Lakisha who I loved three or four weeks ago, coming back here, putting your mark back on this competition, and a great vocal.
Melinda Doolittle – Heaven Knows by Donna Summers
Heaven Knows that Melinda is the Idol to beat!!! Melinda Doolittle performed “Heaven Knows.†Randy Jackson said “You actually are living the words, that’s what a real singer does.†Paula Abdul said “I love when people tell stories when they’re singing, and you do it in spades.†Simon Cowell said “Vocally, however, as usual you were outstanding, hate the outfit.
Phil Stacey – “Every Breath You Take” by the Police
Ho Hum if he gone this week because we can’t get rid of Sanjaya then so be it! Phil Stacey performed “Every Breathe You Take.†Randy Jackson said “I actually kind of liked that, dog.†Paula Abdul said “I would just work on building a little more character in the verses, other than that I think it was a real good performance.†Simon Cowell said “This may surprise you, Phil, but I actually thought that was very good.â€
Sanjaya Malakar – “Bathwater” by No Doubt
In the What the F, moment of the show, Sanjaya appeared in a Pony Tailed Mohawk Hairstyle HairDo or Hair Don’t whatever. It was one of those “what the F” moments that render you speechless or incapacitated from the deep belly laughs. Only pictures acan describe this think, mere words would never come close. See the pciture?
Sanjaya Malakar performed “Bath Water.†Randy Jackson said “Listen, the hairdo is definitely interesting. I like the kind of Mohawk look.†Paula Abdul said “To watch it on stage and not go for it, it’s kind of like we’re going ah, come on.“ Simon Cowell said “I presume there was no mirror in your dressing room tonight.†Sanjaya replied “You’re just jealous that you couldn’t pull it off.†Simon said “I couldn’t I agree. Sanjaya, I don’t think it matters anymore what we say, actually. I genuinely don’t. I think you are in your own universe and if people like you, good luck.â€
Oh Yeah and Sanjaya Malakar Mohawk and all sang like crap once again and must be voted off. However he may not be. He may be playing to the zanies and whack jobs that like Howard Stern, and Vote for the Worst freaks. Freak Further out Sanjaya, if you are going to play that card, then come out on a unicycle and attempt to Juggle!!
This has been a great but weird Idol on 3-27-08. If Sanjaya stays another week it is anybody’s guess who will be going home!

I cannot belive that american idol, no excuse me, the inconsiderate people(the ones that vote for sanjaya) have become so low…the other contests besides Sanjaya deserve to be there and have the talent to be there and people are destroying the dreams of those contestants…i think that sanjaya needs serious help and needs voted off or just kicked off for unfairness because he knows that people are just voting for him just to ruin american idol and he just keeps coming back and that is also so inconsiderate…
