 Clay Aiken the Runner-up for American Idol last year has been surrounded by rumors and innuendo regarding his sexuality.  Aiken is Gay? That’s what most assume and he was publicly outed by John Paulas.  Recently Paulas apologized for his actions.

The man who opened up about his one-night stand with Clay Aiken is now apologizing to the singer.

On his blog, John Paulus, 38, claims he regrets telling all about his romp with the former American Idol runner-up.

“I regret not being a big enough man to accept the possibility that I was simply someone’s one-night stand; I regret telling my story to the tabloids. I regret defying the trust of Clay. I regret hurting him, his family and his fans,” wrote Paulus. “I apologize to Clay for that and I hope he will accept.”

According to the former U.S. Green Beret, he sold his story to the National Enquirer in a “very callow and selfish moment.” Paulus claims he later asked the tabloid not to publish his story and even took legal steps to stop it from being printed.

Paulus told the Enquirer he had unprotected sex with Aiken in a North Carolina hotel in January.

“Clay told me that he just came out of the closet to his mother and a few close friends last year,” the tabloid quoted Paulus as saying. “He said she wasn’t too happy. He told me that he was single again, having broken up with his boyfriend about five months ago.”

Paulus, who has since filmed a porn video, has received death threats from Aiken fans.
