American Idol: The Final 12
Seeing that this is the first season I’m really watching American Idol religiously, I’ve decided to turn to an expert for help on my weekly Idol update. May I introduce Jewels**, a former news producer, who works for a top politico by day… and obsesses over Idol at night. Here, she blabs about last night’s show:

So that’s what Ayla looks like when she doesn’t get what she wants –she cries? I have to remember the overachiever is just 17. Ryan earned his money last night trying to turn it into a positive for her and helping her compose herself enough to sing that very song that lost her America’s votes. God I feel for the losers — that they have to sing the same song that did them no good in the first place.

Gedeon leaving was a shocker to me. I thought it would be Buckey. But Gedeon is smooth and will do something big one day. I’m glad Kevin made it through because at least now he’ll get to do the tour thing. Gedeon will have plenty of opportunity to do something big — whereas this will be the biggest thing of poor little Kevin’s life. I like that kid.

Kinnik and Will were “for sures” when it came to leaving this week. They were both given another chance last week… and blew it.
One consistent thing about all the losers this week is that they all picked the wrong song. Come to think of it, there were a lot of wrong songs in this week’s competition.

What else? Oh, Paula. I’m convinced that she’s a robot. She’s not real and she malfunctioned last week. And what was the deal with her breaching security at the airport? There has to be a whole lot more to that story.
