After wiping the tears from our eyes after the Milwaukee auditions that aired 1/26/2011, we found the following video that contestant and rumored Top 40 contender Chris Medina recorded on what was supposed to be his wedding day to Juliana Ramos.
Chris and Juliana were young and in love. They got engaged, but in October of 2009 Juliana got into a terrible car accident and was in a coma. She eventually woke up, but is severely brain damaged and paralyzed. Chris Medina and Juliana’s mom are her caretakers, and we all saw the heart-wrenching part of the audition where the judges asked Juliana in and Steven Tyler hugged and kissed her. We all cried.
Not only does 26-year-old Medina have a heart of gold, he also has a great singing voice. In fact, the gossip sites are already naming him as a pick for the winner. Too soon to determine that? Maybe, but we haven’t had a heartstring-pulling story like this, well, ever. Danny who?
Keep an eye on the curly-headed Chris Medina, who is (from what we can see) a sweet and selfless guy with a stellar singing voice.

Update:
There has been some blow back from various websites that were appalled at the way Juliana Ramos was featured on the American Idol show. Some have claimed she was being “exploited”. Some have compared her to Terri Schiavo.
We don’t feel there was any exploration, and fully support and wish for a full recovery for Juliana Ramos.
