OI THERE! Did you miss me you devoted American Idol freaks of nature? Yes, you are allowed to steal that title from me if you’d like.

Anywho, this is my recap of the night in mild-chronological order. I will warn you, I will probably wonder a little bit though. Don’t hate.

LET US BEGIN!
What better way to start a show than with a group performance featuring all of the people none of us have been voting for?! Oh yeah, the last 5 Idols to be eliminated took the stage to ruin a P!nk song, “So What”. Don’t get me wrong, I do miss Paul McDonald… however, that crap he was screeching out really made me want to kick a puppy. But, not to limit that insult to him, they all sucked. Hell, I forgot who half of them were.

Now, to the contestants who are actually still on the show.

The Theme this week was songs from the 21st Century. Oh thank GOD. No more of this oldie-motown-bullshiz that our Grandparents listened too. For all you less-than-intelligent ones… this means they sing songs from the year 2000 on up.
The contestants also got to talk about the goofy things they notice about the other contestants.

Scotty McCreery | Song, “Swingin” by LeAnn Rimes.
The contestants made fun of how he holds his Microphone and all his weird faces. The performance was boring. It wasn’t bad, just very boring. Clearly Scotty is built for deep country and minimal movement. We’ve established this. I’m not sure why the judges keep wanting him to push it. What do they expect him to do? Rap? He’s good at what he does. Leave it at that.

James Durbin | Song, “Uprising” by Muse.
The contestants all made fun of that weird Scarf Tale he wears more often than not. And his lovely screaming. Overall the performance was way more exciting then the first one… but it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever seen. I think he was pushing it a bit too hard. But, I give him kudos for livening up the show. My favourite quote by Steven was when he said, “You know how expensive it is to look this cheap?” AHAHAHA! Funny!

Haley Reinhart | Song “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele.

The contestants made fun of her having this tendency to repeat herself if she doesn’t think she was heard the first time. And that weird arm thing she does when she’s singing. Okay, so everyone knows who Adele is… and that “Rolling In The Deep” is so overdosed on the radio, it’s not even funny… so of course it would be hard for Haley to pull it off. And it was. I don’t want to say it was horrible, but it was right on the verge. I will say, she was cute though. I wish my hair would curl like that.

Jacob Lusk | Song, “Dance with my Father” by Luther Vandross.
The contestants called him a Diva. Which he begged for them not to say. He seems more like a Drama Queen than a Diva. But, whatever. I get a lot of haters every time I say this… but he’s annoying. No, me thinking that doesn’t mean I know nothing about music… it means I think he’s annoying. Idol isn’t a Soap Opera, so stop making it one Jacob.

Casey Abrams | Song, “Harder to Breathe” by Maroon 5.
The contestants all think he’s weird and too hairy. Oh duh, we knew this. However, has anyone noticed that dead creature on his face is slowly shedding off? He actually looks like a civilized human being. NO WAI! The performance itself was really good. I like that he didn’t try to sing as high as Adam Levine (not possible) because that would have just been weird. But, he made it more rockerish, but didn’t change it too much. It was all very good. I liked it!

Stefano Langone | Song, “Closer” by Ne-Yo.
The contestants say he’s quite the ladies man. As a direct quote from Jacob: “He would flirt with a piece of paper if he thought it had estrogen in it.” OH WIN! I think I like Jacob a bit more. The performance was okay. But it was boring. I bet he’s a cool dude… but he is so predictable. He has no staying power, whatsoever. I still have no clue how he made it this far in the competition. Arg!

Lauren Alaina | Song, “Born to Fly” by Sara Evans.
The contestants all made fun of the way she talked and all think she talks way too much, about nothing. Aww. I would talk about nothing with her all the time. She’d be a cool friend. The performance wasn’t the best thing to ever come from Lauren, but she did good. J-Lo thinks she needs to try to bring out more, and I agree. I think she could do more. And she’s going to have to step up her game if she thinks she’s going to stay for very much longer.

Holy crap. What a boring night. I mean, the only reason it was boring was for the fact that none of the contestants actually sucked. Which always bums me out. How am I supposed to be funny without any material?

What did you guys think of the performances tonight? Did anyone stand out to you? And who do you think will be going home? Leave your comments in the comment section below. I pretty much agree with you. Jacob and Stefano are good singers but I’m just not into them. Love the other five.

ok they made fun of scotty for singing LeAnn Rimes song but the judges didnt know that leAnn was not the original singer of swinging was john anderson he released the song in 2004. if they really knew music and all genaras they would have known anderson was the original singer. scotty did a good job but i was expecting something different

They play “Rolling in the Deep” on the radio? Cool! Does that mean I’m not supposed to like Adele anymore? Whatevs. She rocks.

I thought plenty of them sucked last night. So much so that I have no idea who will be leaving tonight. If Stefano’s number is finally up, I think that was a good song to go out on. It seems like everyone hated it, but I loved it.

I disagree. I think Haley should have went home last week instead of Paul. She definitely should have gone homethis week. I think the only reason she is stll there is because Jennifer Lopez keeps saying she doesn’t want either of the girls to get voted off. J Lo needs to keep those opinions to herself.
