The American Idols got to sing some newer songs tonight. As a matter of fact, the Theme for Idol tonight was 21st Century Week. Ah YAY! I was really hoping for some Kesha, J-Beibs and Rebecca Black. Oh damn, too bad it’s not Friday. But for now, Scotty McCreery choose “Swinging” by LeAnn Rimes.

Um… he really needs to do something different. And for god sakes, stop holding your Microphone so weird. It’s creeping me out. I think he might be in the bottom 3 this week.
Judges thoughts…
Steven: “I love you, I love your voice.”
J-Lo: “You had a decade of country music to choose from, and I was expecting more.”
Randy: “That was so safe and boring.”

The song is by John Anderson not LeAnn Rimes.

Scotty, Scotty, Scotty, as jLo say’s but not in a good way tonight….You were great, but song selection was god-awful…..all the women in America waiting for you to touch their heart and sould with that deep sexy voice and bedroom eye look you give at end…and we get “Swinging” Please, I can’t believe your tech people let you out there with that song, unarmed against your competition. Dwight Yokam, throw back to Buck Owens, released some great songs you could have choses..ie.”What do you know about love”. Seems like you have so many ways to maintain self-intergrity and I know ur getting pushed…just need to find comfort zone within better songs available…please consider, “That Summer” by Garth Brooks…not a huge hit for him, but could be for u….Regardless, of critisim…I just finished voting for u 50 x’s limit. So hopefully, u can pull a save next week…and find “your” place in this advanced arena.

Scotty’s awesome. Song was fun. He’s so cute and that deep voice on the one verse will have the teen girls going gaga for him.

I am a 73 yr. old grandma and I just love scottie. He is so good and sings. not scream. scotty will vote for you all the way through. you are a true american idol. I do like the judges. we need to clean house again. randy shows way too much favoritisim. jen lopez runs her pouth and show she has the hots for casey. and it was john anderson not leanne rimes. love ya scotty good luck praying for you. like to hear you sing “Steam” GL GL GL.

Personally, he should have been disqualified for singing that son,g it was originally done in 1983 by John Anderson and he did almost a carbon copy cover of it. It was NOT a song from the 21st century and to me just because someone else covered it after 2000, it still should not have qualified. Bad choice Idol for letting that one slide through unnoticed. Scotty needs to go.
