  SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT I VOTED FOR PIA MANY TIMES AND SOME OF MY VOTES WENT TO OTHER CONTESTANTS INSTEAD OF HER SOMEHOW THE WIRES GOT CROSSED NOW IF THIS HAPPENED ON MY PHONE IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED ON OTHER VOTERS PHONES AS WELL.   Its things like this that makes me want to not watch this stupid show. Those judges wasted there one save on someone who didn’t deserve it. That dang on Stefano should have been gone weeks ago and he stills seems to be skating by. Everytime I try to vote online I am never able to vote. Pia was ONE of the best singers this season.   It WAS a singing contest. Now it isn’t. Pia can sing and that’s about all. Not sure who IS voting, but I would not have voted for her. Never did care for her. I like James. I think Casey is an awesome musician. It will probably end up between James and Lauren.

  Barbara striesand sang ballads had passion just as pia look at here now she has directed many movies as a producer and has sold counless albulms!! So she song ballads so does Marc anthony.. People see usher, black eye peas and the cute lover boy beiber and you think they know how to dance and it all raw talent? Burmp wrong again. Even J.lo can tell you with the countless number she help put together for famous people! People in this day and age you can be trained and show someone how to perform and dance but it is very hard to get someone who has natural raw talent. Pia reminds me of a Celine Dion. Which by the way stood still alot of her perfomances. Come to think about it so did Aretha franklin and Diana ross all in the beggining of there carriers. Ballads will always sell and always be used. Thats where allot of comedy and chick flicks get there song from. Just mark my words pia will be another jenifer hudson. Great voice great talent!!

  More than a singing contest. It is a popularity contest that has some performance influence and some singing influence. The judges are the people of this great country of ours.

  Take a look above at the past winners and where most of them are. Now take a look at our elected officials. Scary similarities if you look at it in enough of an abstract way.

  Pia will make a fantastic back-up singer or studio singer, but she is not a performer. If she brought her off stage personality to the stage she might still be in the competition. So, maybe America isn’t stupid. We’re just looking for a whole package.
  Side note: Lauren reminds me of Cass Elliot, just without the voice.

  I do agree about Pia I said last night she needed someone with a six shooter to make her dance, if she broke out of her shell she would have held on.

  I believe people do look at the whole package to an extent but vote on one aspect, never did any polls just a presumption. Like Kim said not a good entertainer. singing and song choice don’t seem to be as important as the whole package to her from what I am seeing.

  There are reports that a lot people got busy signals last night on Pia’s phone number and could not get through, while the website work just fine but limiting votes to 50.

  Next year the voting should be for bottom three with the Judges deciding which one goes home, while not perfect it would be a bit fairer and gives a better reason to have Judges, they get paid well to handle the add pressure to do this.
  This is a total disgrace about popularity and not talent which it seem the guys have the advantage year after year.

  This just goes to show that American idol is over.
  Now it’s come to the point when ONLY girls vote on this show, and they don’t vote for the good singers, they vote for the guys that they like like.

  This is so annoying. 2 girls. 6 guys.

  There were 6 great girls, on maybe 2 great guys.

  Even by reading the comments above, the girls are happy Paul is safe for his smile.
  Paul can’t even sing.

  I liked Pia, but she got voted off. Remember Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry got voted off #8 and #5, but look at their careers. If you truly love PIA, follow her on the IDOL summer performances and buy her music. You’ve all seen that #1 isn’t always the best and doesn’t always have the biggest career.

  okay so i’m going to start by saying, shame on all of you. shame on the judges. and shame on the audience. it was complete bullshit that after stefano felt bad for winning they continued to put him down so that he felt as if he didn’t deserve the spot he had been given. i dont like pia nor do i like stefano all that much but i can tell you right now at least stefano had IT. pia had no personality, no stage presence and she sounded just like every other american idol LOSER. who would want to go to a concert where all the singer does is stand there? not me and not my friends either. we are all outraged at how immature the judges acted, it seems to me like they were bringing personal feelings into their judging and if simon would have been there he would have cussed all of them out. it was crazy ridiculous that people think she should be brought back because guess what SHE SUCKS. i know people that aren’t on AI that can sing 10 times better than her. american idol is NOT a singing competition it’s a mission to find the next superstar. a superstar has it all, the vocals, the stage presence, ability for people to relate. take lauren alaina for example she is the next taylor swift in my opinion, she’s adorable and i would be obsessed with her if she won because i feel like i can relate to her as a teenage girl. who can relate to pia? a cardboard box maybe but it can’t vote so shut the hell up and suck it up because no one gives a fuck if you have a crush on pia and her big ass nose.   Heidi, the most talent to ever come from hicks was the kid in Deliverance doing the dueling banjo part. There are no great guitarists or drummers or anything of the sort for MANY years. Now some of the women are great singers which is why I said MALE country singers. And the country players from decades ago could play their instruments well. You probably love monotone Garth don’t you. He has no range and is a lame guitar player. Why are all the greatest male singers and drummers and guitar/bass players rockers?   Heidi, I never said he wasn’t a nice kid, he may be, he may be a total jerk but we don’t know, we only see how they act in front of the camera. They all act like good people on camera so who knows. My point was he cannot sing anything but country (and that Elvis song proves it)and is not at the same level as most or all of the others and should not have gotten near as far as he has.   okay caracella, i will say that no we don’t know how they act which is another reason why you shouldn’t call him names. and yes maybe scotty isn’t as talented in the same category as everyone else because most of the contestants are pop singers but scotty is an amazing country singer. i enjoyed his elvis performance, it just showed that he has more range than i thought and everyone i know was going crazy over it including my grandma who is the biggest elvis fan known to man. everyone has an opinion and i’m sorry that i was attacking yours, it wasn’t right of me just like it wasn’t right of you.

  I’ll agree with you there, we are probably just both passionate about music and see different things in it. I play guitar, drums and piano so I tend to focus more on that I have to admit. You may be a singer and see more in that part than I do. I’m very tone and pitch oriented and tend to get frustrated with certain aspects of music that don’t show it as much as others. Kind of like rap to me shows no vocal talent but they can be great writers and arrangers. I also used to work at a place called Rock n Rodeo so I probably got sick country music and fake wannabe cowboys all dressed up in their snakeskin boots and $500 hats(the real cowboys came in t-shits tennis shoes and baseball hats)for that reason as well after 8 hours a day all week. Basically take what I say as a grain of salt and not personally.

  you’re so right, i play guitar and sing but singing is like what i’m passionate about not that i’d ever want to go anywhere with it it’s just fun to me. i really don’t like country music anymore because songs these days are very degrading towards southern people, i liked it when tim mcgraw and faith hill were huge and people like lila mcann and lee ann womack had amazing songs out there. i do agree with you on the whole rap thing, it’s taken over and it’s not good. i like eminem only because he came from shit and still he showed a lot of people that you can do whatever you set your mind to. i prefer bands like aerosmith, our lady peace, the fray, ect. but i guess we all hear something different even when we’re listening to the same things.

  Pia may have had a great voice, but she was not a great entertainer.. Infact she was down right boring! She didn’t even feel the need to switch up the songs with different arangements and different tempos. All her songs sounded almost exactly the same as the originals. She absolutely deserved to go!
  And as for Paul, he’s wonderful. He has a great quirky sound, very folk-esk, and he’s a great performer. He definitely deserves to stay!

  America needs to suck it up and get a life. People who thought pia was good are idiots. If you think there’s only girls vote on this show you’re stupid because I’m a guy and I watch this every year. Let me tell you the girls suck this year the only good one is Lauren and since the top 12 I knew a guy was going to win year. I personally like James and Scotty. Pia is the most boring singer on that stage and you know it. If y’all think American idol sucks now this just stop watching it and quit talking bs. Stefano, haley, or Justin is so voted off next week. And if you don’t agree then your just flat out stupid. I’m from Texas and we talk like normal people live normal lives the only thing that might sound like were from down south that we say and we say it everyday is “y’all.” You Yankees need to get a life. Who voted for Obama? Not Texas that’s for sure. Over Half of us are republicans 95% of people who voted for him were African Americans. So Texas is the only state that knows the true meaning of America. It’s not about voting for the better looking people it’s for voting for the best person.   Yes, Pia has a nice voice, BUT she is no “American Idol” They’re looking for marketable, which Pia is not. I’d see her in a Broadway musical.

  Kyle mark has got it right with respect to the talent this season.. I’m sure there are young girls out there who are voting for the “cutest guy” but there are also plenty of people voting for their favorites based purely on who is the most enjoyable to watch and listen to. The guys totally out weighed the girls this year in talent. The only two girls that have steped it up and proven that they’re food enough are still on the show, Haley and Lauren have proven themselves along with Casey, Jacob, Scotty, Paul and James (although I think James was awful this week). The rest have proven themselves to be boring and unoriginal and they deserve/deserved to be voted off. America has gotten it right for once. Keep up the good voting!
