We promise you snark every week, and between Jebbica and Cait you get it in spades, but what about our faithful and fearless commentators and readers who make the show so much fun every week? Well, it’s time we got to know them a little better. So, without further ado, I give you an interview with none other than Bayou – a new addition to our crew of American Idol fans.

Question: Thank you for your time, Bayou. May I post a picture of you? The fans want to know what you look like.

Bayou: Then this is me doing Andy Warhol. Enjoy.

Bayou

Question: So, Bayou, where are you from?

Bayou: When you ask me where I’m from, do you mean the exact town, or in general? When people ask me where I’m from I tell them I’m from New Orleans, because it’s the closest big town to the town I’m from. So, in your mind, that’s where I’m from.

Question: When did you start watching American Idol?

Bayou: First season. I love to sing, and I love to listen to other people sing. The concept of the show was something that resonated with me, and I have enjoyed watching it.

Question: How would you say the show has improved since that first season, and how would you say it has not improved?

Bayou: You mean how do I feel the show has evolved? Personally I’m sad to see Simon go, not just for Simon, but for what Simon represented – the ball-buster, the dream-crusher. You have to have that on the panel. It’s no good to have a bunch of people on the panel blowing sunshine up your…you need people to tell you what you need to know to succeed. The episodes I enjoyed the most were the ones where Simon gave real criticism on how people could improve. This season, I don’t really see anybody taking that role, though Randy has tried.

I would also say that the song choices have declined. ?In past seasons there were great songs. David Cook’s Billy Jean was amazing. ?I’m trying to compare performances this season to that, and people aren’t doing that.

Question: Do you watch the voted off night?

Bayou: I’m in school right now, so I just watch the performances. I hear about who was voted off or hear about who was voted off. I am surprised I have time to comment on this site, but it’s so fun, and I love being snarky with Jebbs.

Question: Do you feel like you’d make the same type of comments if we were all sitting in a room together watching, or does commenting online afford you a certain freedom?

Bayou: Good question. And the answer is yes to both. I’ll address the second one first. Though the internet provides an excellent cloak of anonymity, a blanket of exclusion, it’s easy to say what you want on the internet. However, I am not the sort of person who filters myself. I have eroded my social filter. ?I have no qualms about taking somebody outside their comfort zone, and telling them all the sh&t that goes on in my head.

Question: So that makes you a little like Charlie Sheen, then? Firing truth torpedos at the American Idol Fan readership?

Bayou: *uncontrollable laughing* Who do you think sells the most tiger blood? *more uncontrollable laughing* Yeah, I guess you can make that comparison if you want to.

Question: So, predictions. Who will the two voted off next week?

Bayou: Honestly it will come down to the performances. Out of last week’s bottom three I predicted two of the three. The nation chose Stefano, Thia, and Casey. I chose Stefano, Thia, and Haley. It’s hard to judge. It’s up to the callers, if you don’t believe that American Idol is rigged. That’s why I like the show. ?You have to watch the performances to see who drops the ball and who really nails it. That’s why they did what they did with Casey. He’s been the front runner, and everybody betting on him, but I don’t really see him running away with it. It’s really going to come down to song choice with these kids. I mean, on Motown Week, with Otis Williams in the audience, and nobody picks a Temptations song? ?Come on.

Question: So was that poor planning?

Bayou: Who knows? A lot of the kids said they didn’t know a lot about Motown. Maybe there is such a freedom of song choice that the Temptations didn’t even come up in conversation, but the fact that nobody wanted to sing a Temptations song made me sad and angry. But back to your earlier question, I think the two voted off this week will be Thia Megia and Niama Adedepo.

Question: So who will be the top 5?

Bayou: ?Lauren Alaina. She’s young, she’s bubbly, she’s got an amazing voice. She’s the short chunky Carrie Underwood. ?Pia Toscano. I love Pia. She has the pipes of an opera singer. There are so many avenues open to her, and I can see her doing a lot of different things, and doing them successfully. ?I’m into the arts, and while I don’t enjoy opera, I recognize it as an art form and know it’s underrated. Maybe she could do that. I want to pick Scotty McCreery. I am Team Scotty Mac. ?But I don’t know if he’s going to make it. I want him there, but I don’t know.I’m going to say Stefano Langone could make it to the Top 5. Not only do I like him, he can sing his ass off. Last week he suffered with a poor song choice, one that is very difficult to sing. ?I like that he had the stones to try that. ?He’s like the Marc Anthony of the new generation. ?He’s my first male pick for the Top 5. I’m going to go ahead and say Jacob Lusk. I don’t believe he should be in the Top 5, but I think America will put him there. And I guess the Koala, James Durbin, will make it to the Top 5.

Good job Liz! I think you could have just posted his picture & that would have told the story of the comments he makes. LOL!

Bayou, you are to funny on the live blog. But, you need to change your top 5. Jacob & Stefano need to go! Put Paul in because his dance moves are the best. I wonder how long his scrawny legs will hold up.
