Well, we’ve heard what Kid Rock thinks about Steven Tyler joining American Idol. Now we’re hearing what Gene Simmons thinks bout Jennifer Lopez joining Idol.
The guy with the long tongue and big mouth to go along with it seems to think this is not really a good idea for J-Lo. As a matter of fact, he thinks he would be the perfect judge for Idol. Saying this to OK! Magazine.
“In terms of qualifications I’m the governor. I’ve written songs, been in a band for 37 years, toured the world, blah blah, discovered Van Halen, and managed Liza Minnelli, Simmons Records. Done it, been there, 3,000 licensed products. Who else has that qualification?”
He thinks that picking Steven Tyler for an Idol judge was a really good choice. Because he is “qualified, and knows what he’s talking about.”
He thinks that Jennifer will mean NOTHING, saying this:
“I don’t think Jennifer Lopez is going to mean a thing. Because you can dance and stuff, you don’t write songs, your own records. You’re a performer. I don’t take respectfully I don’t take her seriously as being able to spot new talent. So, you can sing, you can dance, that’s nice. But Tyler’s the real deal. He’s not shy. What you really want to do is to have somebody get up there because most people are delusional because they go up there and they’re like I’m as good as Ethel Murman.”
Well, tell us how you really feel there Gene. I do think he has a point. I wasn’t excited to hear that J-Lo was joining Idol. I don’t think she’ll have any sort of opinion; she’ll just be like Paula, and agree with what the boys say. However, if we had Gene, Tyler and Randy… WTF? Weird.
Personally, I think they needed a judge who was NOT a music person. Someone who doesn’t make music, or write it… etc. Just someone like me who listens to the radio and knows what she likes. That would be cool. But, they wouldn’t do that, would they? No, they’re going to get big-wigs on there to take away all the attention from the contestants and put it on the judges. FAIL!

J-LO IS SO GREAT. SCREW GENE. STEVEN TYLER IS STOOPID TOO. HE LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY. J-LO IS SO TALENTED, GO JENNIFER LOPEZ. SHE SHOULD BE THE ONLY JUDGE THERE. SHE HAS MORE TALENT THAN ANY OF THEM.

I agree with Gene. J LO is a pre fab packaged over produced puppet. I never understood how Paula became a judge. So she made a video with a cartoon. The real musicians don’t lip sync . They play instruments and work their tales off. Why not have Peter Gabriel as a judge?

I disagree that real musicians have to play instruments. The voice is an instrument according to music educators. Adam Lambert’s voice is a highly trained and and technically spectacular instrument. After they found Adam why must this show go on?
