He will be helping out a family build a house, which is pretty cool. Maybe this will make me think he is not such an arrogant tard.

It will be on this Sunday on the 10th at 9/8 Central. If you have seen the show lately you know they have been inviting stars to help them, so this time they invited David Cook.

This week it will be the Cowan-Brown family, they are people that David knows and really wants to help.

He says in an interview:

“I was fortunate enough to get to meet the Cowan-Brown family before all of this.  I have family in a town very close to Bunker Hill, and they had brought the family to one of my shows, I got a chance to see them, and Kori kind of gave me the meat and potatoes version of her story, and I was really moved by it.  We tried to work something out to get involved.  Lo and behold, EXTREME MAKEOVER comes into play, and they reached out to us.  They somehow found out about the connection and asked if I wanted to be involved.  I really jumped at the chance.  I think it’s great what they do, for families who need it.”

I have heard him so much on the radio lately, but I will say that some of his songs are actually good.

David Cook, Season 7’s winner of American Idol, and Season 2 Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell have called it quits.  The couple has been dating since May 2008.  They were so cute together!  Some people are just better off as friends, I guess.

Kimberly’s rep announced:  “Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays. The couple remain good friends and, being very private people, appreciate their privacy at this time.”

David Cook the reigning American Idol winner is getting to release his first album.  Former Green Dayproducer Rob Cavallo and with David Cook worked for one month on the debut release. The American Idol Summer Tour finished up in mid September and David Cook was hard at work at the studio.  The album will be a Rock Album and is sure to cause some waves.  Cook wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on the record, drawing on both recent collaborations with songwriting pros and tunes he wrote in his pre-Idol bartending days.

According to the American Idol Alum in a recent Rolling Stones Interview, “During the show, I enjoyed messing with people’s expectations,” says David Cook. “The show,” of course, is American Idol; in May, Cook was the winner of its seventh season. “I’m not trying to surprise people now: I’m putting out a rock record. I just want the songs to kick you in the teeth or make you want to cry — or do something drastic, like jump off a building. I want somebody to be exhausted when they’re done listening.”

The American Idol Tour made it’s stop in Las Vegas as the Thomas & Mack Center this past Saturday.  According to one music review critic, Doug Elfman he pretty much trashed the night but said the fans seemed to love the show.  Isn’t  that what it’s all about?

With comments like “”American Idol” winner David Cook stood there on stage, trying to look cool with his big guitar and a scarf hanging by his belt.
And as fans screamed, Cook opened his rock-guy beard mouth to eke out his first horrible song, which they loved: a cover of Lionel Richie’s “Hello.”

and  “It’s frustrating that “Idol” singers waste good voices resurrecting the past. Cook is a fine mimic. But he didn’t sound fresh with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” in his mouth, and he certainly couldn’t match Dave Grohl’s growl while covering Foo Fighters’ “My Hero.”"

His review also included snide remarks about Brooke White, Carly Smithson and David Castro.

One Fan that attended the show wrote up a review on MJ’s Blog she loved it:

On David Archuleta for instance she wrote “He then sang a stellar version of Josh Groban’s “When You Say You Love Me”. I have to say that even though I always thought he had a beautiful voice, I found him a bit boring during the show. But, in person? His voice is even better and I enjoyed his set a great deal more than I expected to.”

and about  David Cook she said, “The moment we’ve all been waiting for… especially me. The American Idol himself, David Cook, takes the stage in a dramatic fashion singing his gorgeous version of Lionel Richie’s “Hello”. His voice is even better in person and the guy just oozes stage presence and charisma all over the place. His next song is Magic Rainbows… er, I mean “Time of My Life”.”

As with any critic you take from it what you want, obviously Doug Elfman was not happy with the assignment to cover the idols, and it showed in his review. The Fans loved the show, so that’s all that is important!

The daytime talk show The View was filming from Las Vegas this week, and had our two favorite American Idols on the show. Both David Archuleta and David Cook interacted and sang for the ladies of The View.

The ladies from “The View” showcased “American Idol” stars David Cook and David Archuleta.

Both David’s sat and talked with the show’s hosts before singing. When the hosts asked if they were dating anyone, Archuleta laughed and said he hadn’t even had time to think about it because the show and the music and the tour were keeping him busy.

Cook, who is reportedly dating former “Idol” alum Kimberly Caldwell, said there was someone he was dating, but he didn’t elaborate. When they asked him where she was he replied, “Somewhere.”

David Archuleta sang the song “Stand By Me” and David Cook sang “The Time of My Life.” Both performed on an outdoor stage in Las Vegas, to the usual screams of girls.
