Two guys left. THIS is the final performance show of the year. THIS is the last time we’ll have to watch an hour-long commercial in guise of a TV show. THIS is AmericanIdolseasonfinalepartone!
Whoa, even Simon dressed up tonight!
After a coin toss, Adam finally loses the pimp spot! He’s going first, singing “Mad World” again. Randy gave him an A+. Kara said she was happy he repeated himself. Paula said she was proud of him. Simon thought it was overtheatrical, a little Phanton of the Opera.
Kris Allen is repeating “Ain’t No Sunshine”. Randy thought it was one of his best performances. Kara thinks that he has an uncanny ability to connect with audiences. Simon was unsure about Kris making it to finals, but he says he takes it back after that performance.
Round one winner via Simon: Kris!
Round two, producer’s pick. Adam is singing “Change is Gonna Come”. Starts out pretty good, then gets screechy. I like his suit, though. Randy: “You can sing your face off.” Kara: “That may have been your best performance and interpretation of a song since the beginning.” Paula: “That was the best I’ve heard you sing ever!” Simon: “You are 100% back in the game, congratulations.”
Simon Fuller’s pick for Kris is “What’s Goin’ On?”. It’s a performance for Bonnaroo, with all the peace, love and bongos! Randy said it was a “little light” for him. Paula: I know what’s goin’ on, you tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud. Simon: “It was too laid back for a night like this”.
Round two winner: Adam
Round three: the guys are singing their possible acceptance songs written by Kara. Wow. This might possibly be the worst song ever written. Randy: “not one of my favorite performances, a little pitchy.” Kara: I’m so honored you sang my song. Simon: smooch smooch smooch, will you marry me? (more or less)
Oh, crap. Ryan just said that Kris was going to sing…that horrible song again! Well, pack it in folks, because all we’re going to remember is Kris singing that horrible song, and it’s hello, Winner Adam! What a way to get revenge for not getting to put precious Adam in the pimp spot…write a song so terrible for Kris to sing in the pimp spot. Yikes!
“No Boundaries”, as sung by Kris, seems like it has a bit more of a melody. Still the worst song ever, but it fits Kris’ voice a little better. Randy agrees with me. Paula says he deserve to be in the spotlight. Simon: “you thoroughly deserve to be here tonight.”
Round 3 winner: Kris
Round 3 loser: Kara for writing that horrible song!
Okay okay okay, who’s gonna take this whole thing home? Discuss; it’s time for me for me to watch Glee!

KRIS took the night. it’s just hard for Adam fans to admit that he couldn’t pull thru tonight. Adam is Broadway people! You can take him out of the theatre, but you can’t take the theatre out of him. We need a pop star.. Kris FTW!:)

after seeing kris do: aint no sunshine when she’s gone – i thought wow! the kid got it….
but following all that, and based on the nights performance, adam deserves it more!
i would NEVER get an adam lambert album. really. i hate his voice! and i would def. be interested in the career kris makes…. but as for the prize. let the broadway act boy get it!

I’m still crossing my fingers for Kris, but won’t be a bit surprised when Adam’s name is called tonight. And that song was awful, who let Kara get away with that? Did no one stop her and say, “Kara, no, this is…this terrible.” And I wonder how many vampires Adam slayed last night in that crazy Van Helsing coat…

If you listen closely, Kris flubs in the No Boundaries song. Either he forgot the words, or he put the microphone too far away that it couldn’t register his voice…or he did that because he forgot. Kind of funny.
