Confessions of an American Idol Teenage Fan
Hey, I’m Cait! This is my first post on Idol-Mania and I am super excited. I think it’s cool that I can spread my sarcasm and opinions other places for others to enjoy (At least I hope they enjoy it). Lolz! Here are just a FEW of my opinions about American Idol this year!
I personally liked Alexis; she has/had been actually growing on me. I did not like her at first because she seemed to drab, but that changed. Here in Las Vegas they had the odds on who would most likely win American Idol. Alexis Grace was number 2 to win, and as we all know she was booted off. So I guess that is going to have to change.
I L-O-V-E Allison Iraheta. She can sing good and she is not boring. She kind of has a husky older sounding voice, she reminds me of, Pink and Alanis Morissette (sort of). I don’t know why the judges keep comparing her to Kelly Clarkson. I could totally see her doing something, even if she does not win American Idol. I want her to win though, because we have not had a rocker chick get it yet and I’d buy that CD.
Danny seems like a cool dude, he has a good voice. He is number one on our odds to win. He wouldn’t be in MY iPod, but allot of people seem to like him. I could see him winning the whole thing! He needs to start being a little bit more “out there” though.
I have this thing for entertainment. I do not care if they sing THAT great. I like to be entertained, that is what I vote for. Allot of the American Idols are lame and boring. I guess they should have a good voice too, that might help them. Lolz!
Like, Adam Lambert for instance. I do not think he is that great of a singer, BUT…he is entertaining. Fun to watch (Sometimes annoying) but still fun. Who wants to sit there and watch Kris Allen? NOT ME! I think he might have a pretty voice, but I wouldn’t know; I keep falling asleep every time he comes on. I know it’s a singing competition, but when happens when it comes to concerts and stuff? Don’t they need entertainment? I’d say so! I think people should be voting for that as well as singing. Look at Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, they have not done that much. Would you want to go to one of their concerts? Maybe you would. HA!
What I don’t understand about the judges is they say they want the contestants to be memorable and entertaining, and then when they are, the judges do not get it. Maybe they are all on the same thing as Paula – Whatever it is Paula’s on! Who knows, they are confusing.
My vote goes to Allison and Adam at the moment!

You’re right! American Idol needs to be about more than just a good voice. To make it big in concert they need to be able to entertain and keep the audience interested for more than 5 minutes.

I must be tone deaf because I never agree with the judges. What I like… they hate. What I hate … they love.
Or, maybe I just need some of “Whatever Paula’s on”.. LOL

I’ve sang in my share of groups in the past so I am really particular about vocals, but America loves to be entertained. Good blog girl! Way to go!

I must say you are a good judge. It’s like you say they do need to have more than a good voice they need to keep the fans entertained for more than a couple minutes. Good review Cait, looking forward to hear more from you.

I know there are some people that like a really good voice and that’s about it, but I think allot of the people watching American Idol are most likely teenagers. Teens like to go to a concert and have fun. Of course there are adults watching too, but they can have their oldies music. Lolz!

We have the same problem in this house, we all like a performance and then Simon has to say “It was like being on a cruse ship with the worst karaoke ever”. And no Paula stuff for your Karen. Lolz!
