Jesse Langseth is the girl who had to have a sing-off with Frankie Jordan for a space in the Top 36. Frankie Jordan might have been disqualified for having previous record contracts–she even had a song on the Win a Date with Tad Hamilton soundtrack–but it looks like Jesse has record label connections, too!
Jesse is the sister of guitar prodigy Johnny Lang. Lang has even won Grammys! Personally, I think American Idol should be about scouting out talent of people who don’t have ways to get into the business. You know, for small-town types. If you can walk into a record company’s office and everyone knows your name, then I think American Idol is the wrong place for you!

Personally I would love to see that too Jebbica. On the other hand, having ways of getting into the business doesn’t always mean exposure. The music industry really is about who you know and Jonny Lang isn’t too well know in pop music overall. David Cook himself will tell you that this paved such a great way with plenty of opportunity to shine what he has. But yeah believe me I know what you mean, I’d love to be able to witness that when I watch American Idol as well.

I do not watch American Idol but I will tune in now to follow Jesse. I would say that hardly ANYONE in the demographic that American Idol caters too has EVER even heard of Jonny Lang. He won a Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. Please, tell me how many of the tweeny-boppers watching the show figured that out. LOL I only found out about his sister due to wikipedia when I was looking up one of his band members names. I just saw Jonny in concert last night for the 4th time.. he is the absolute best singer/song-writer of his time.
Obviously if this gal could have had a record deal due to her brother, I’m sure she would have all ready. dah!

I think she is great and hope she comes out with something soon….her brother is great and I can tell she has that soulful sound he does….
