American Idol Fan Site | Who got voted off American Idol

We’re in for two hours of American Idol tonight as they finally announce the Top 36 contestants.  Hopefully it will be two hours of excitement and not monotony!

We’re in the judges’ mansion tonight, as the contestants “sing for their lives” in sing-offs!

First thoughts: what kind of useless expendature is the Judges’ Mansion?  It’s not like any of them actually live there. So, there’s that huge house being used once a year.

Anoop Desai is the first person to sing tonight!  At least we begin on a high note!  Unfortunately, they don’t make him sing, but he’s in the Top 36!

Von Smith is next (ick).  Do the judges like his scream-singing?  Apparently, they do! But will America?

Back from the first break, and we’re about to hear our first sing-off.  Cody Sheldon is the teenage emo kid, and he’s about to have to sing for his spot.  Alex Wagner is also chosen to come in the room to face-off with Cody. Since the two are friends, whoever wins will celebrate a bittersweet victory.  Both were fine in their sing-off, but it was Alex who made it through. Maybe Cody will come back next year; I kinda liked that kid!

Adam Lambert is next, who of course gets through.

Taylor Vaifanua is first up after the break. After struggling in Hollywood week, she wasn’t sure if she would make it. She does. As does Jasmine Murray, Arianna Afsar, Casey Carlson, Megan Corkrey, Mishavonna Henson, and Stevie Wright.

Joanna Pacitti hopes to keep the girls’ winning streak alive.  She has forgotten almost all the lyrics at Hollywood Week.  However, she get through.

T.K. Hash, Chris Chatman, and Reggi Beasley, all get sent home.  Who? Guess that’s why we didn’t see much of them! Kendall Beard is next with butterflies in her stomach.  However, she makes it through.

Kristin McNamara and Jenn Korbee are going to have to have a sing-off.  The votes are split, so we’re going on break.

Back from the break, and the judges have made their decision. They chose Kristin McNamara.

Single mom Alexis Grace is next for judgment.  She gets through.  Aww, cute kid!

Scott MacIntire also gets through.  As does Lil Rounds.

First hour is over, and 30 people are left to hear decisions.  We immediately get nos for Felicia Barton, Ashley Hollister, and Devon Baldwin.

Frankie Jordon has to sing-off with Jessie Langseth.  Unfortunately, Frankie is out of Hollywood.

Shera Lawrence and Derik Lavers get sent home.  Allison Iraheta is 16 and is unsure about her destiny.  She’s through.

Jamar Rogers and Danny Gokey are finally apart as they learn who’s in and who’s out.  Danny’s in, and we find out if Jamar joins him after the break.

Jamar dresses so sharp!  I kind of favor him over Danny.  The judges don’t, though. WTF?!  That’s crazy!

Ricky Braddy, Matt Giraud, Ju’not Joyner, Jorge Nunez, and Brent Keith make it through. Stephen Fowler also gets through.

Next is Nick Mitchell/Normund Gentle!!!  Love him, but I’m feeling jaded that they sent Jamar home.  OMG, he’s in the Top 36!!!!!!!! The judges have lost their minds.

Actress Jackie Tohn makes it through.  But will Tatiana Del Toro?  Wow, I hope not, but I bet it’s not going to work out in my favor.  And, it didn’t! She’s in the top 36. I don’t think the other contestants can believe it!

Nathaniel Marshall and Jackie Midkiff have to battle a sing-off.  Between the two, Nathaniel is going to vye for our votes.

Jeanine Vailes, Kai Kalama, Anne Marie Boskovich, Kris Allen are through.  Matt Breitzke and Michael Sarver are the last two contestants of the day.   They have to sing-off, but since I have 2 spots left on my list, I’m betting they both make it!  Surprise surprise, they do!
