After the shocking exit of Melinda Doolittle by being voted off American idol, Melinda was on air with Ryan Seacrest on his morning KIIS 102.7 FM radio show.
Here is an excerpt of that interview:
Melinda express that she was actually ” oddly relieved to have been voted off American idol.”
She stated she could actually take a “deep breathe now and be able to sing without being judged“.
She was thankful for all the support of the fans and votes, but now she can just do what she loves the most and basically just sing without all the grueling contest factors.
She was extremely happy to have made it to the final 3.
“I had a great run”
“I don’t feel cheated or robbed and I am so proud of Blake and Jordin”
“I was completely compared for you (Ryan Seacrest) to say it was the end of the road”
“I was proud and excited that I had a great night on Tuesday and was proud of my performance”
“Randy, Simon and Paula were so encouraging to me and how they supported me and that their is so much more to come, Simon told me he want me to succeed.”
“my father thanked me for taking them along on this journey, my mother and father were so proud, and mother was glad that I was still smiling.”
Melinda Doolittle will perform on the final on May 23 and will be on the American Idol Summer Tour. Look for releases of a Melinda Doolittle album in the fall or just in time for christmas.

Melinda was the most consistent each week. She was the best performer by far. A true professional. Melinda should have been in the finale with Blake.

That Blake Lewis’ tiring, gimmicky, beat-boxing act beat out Melinda Doolittle’s full, versatile, consistently-excellent talent-loaded vocal performance causes this American to discontinue watching “American” Idol. And I don’t think I’m alone in that decision. It would be interesting to see whether or not Idol’s viewing audience drops off next week. Good luck Jordin.

melinda is amazing, who could sing a whitney houston song so great?!?! i love melinda and i will buy her CD as soon as it comes out. i think that the show wasn’t based upon talent because clearly melinda was the most talented one and deserved to be in the finals. i disagree with ryan when he said that it was the end of the road for her, what are you talking about?? she has the talent to overcome anything that he could ever get. that said, God got big plans for her, and she is “one heck of a singer” and will have a very successful career. you showed everyone that you are a complete singer with the vocals, attitude, stage dominance, etc. WE LOVE YOU MELINDA, YOUR BEATIFUL AND VERY GIFTED!!!!

I was so devastated when Melinda was voted off. But, it doesn’t matter because she is already an American Idol and was that from day one. I will stand in line to buy her music and to see her in concert!

people are talking about how short your neck is. a few more of those not too long , not too short necklaces willl disguise that. love you in dresses- like the white knee length one on finale night. i have training in fashion so i know what i am talking about. not too much hair and you look wonderful. beautiful inside and out. just take some time to find your style.
