American Idol 2007 Spoilers for Season 6
Seaching for information to Spoil some of the American Idol candidates we came across some nice tidbits besides the ones we have seen already on the shows:
Brandon Rogers: Brandon is 28 and has been employed as a backup singer for some of R&B’s biggest names, including Christina Aguilera, Patti LaBelle, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Earth Wind and Fire, Johnny Mathis, Black Eyed Peas, Anastacia, Angie Stone, and Usher. His indie CD, Automatic, is available for sale on CD Baby. Check out the tracks. This guy is good.
Brandon attended the University of North Texas where he majored in jazz vocal studies and performed with fellow student, Norah Jones. He performed with Sons of Harmony, opening for Destiny’s Child’s DC3 Tour. He auditioned in L.A., singing “Overjoyed” and “Movin’ On.” Brandon has a real smoothed, polished R&B vibe and should be a lock for the top 24. He may be a bit too polished for Idol, though. It will be interesting to see how TPTB handle his backstory.
Chris Sligh: Another rocker named Chris!!! This Chris is the lead singer of a rock/pop/indie band called Half Past Forever from Greensville, SC. He auditioned Memphis, singing an original song (”Leave The Light On”), Ray LaMontagne’s “Trouble,” and Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose.” This is his third attempt at making Idol, and apparently, the time is right for Chris Sligh.
Tom Lowe: Tom has some impressive credentials. He is from the UK where he performed with a band called North and South. The band’s single, “Man Not a Boy,” charted at #7 in the UK. He was also cast a BBC series called No Sweat, and performed in several musicals, including Les Miserables and Cats before leaving for the U.S. to attend Harvard University. He has a degree from Harvard in East Asian studies.
His band, Tommy and the Tigers, began performing together while they were students and became the school’s most popular band. They recorded an album, Dance Rock, but I can’t find any evidence that it’s been released.
Here are few more names to watch:
Michael Preston: Michael, who is 20, won the title of Sooner Idol back in March.
Gina Glockson: Gina was the singing dental assistant who just missed making the cut last year.    Â
Matthew Buckstein: Matthew was one of last season’s “Brokeback Cowboys,” and was invited back to perform on the finale.
