Kellie Pickler, who engaged in some memorable banter with “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell released her first country single this week.
“Red High Heels” is Pickler’s debut single off her upcoming album for 19 Recordings/BNA Records, “Small Town Girl,” which will be in stores on Halloween.
She is a co-writer on this single and also on several other cuts on the album.
One of her favorite memories during the recording of her album was getting to meet one of her idols.
“This guy walks in the door, and I looked over my shoulder and quickly took a second look. I was so excited when I realized who it was…it was Kenny Chesney. I couldn’t believe that he was standing next to me,” Pickler said. “It was so weird because just last year I went to one of his concerts and after his show I remember going home and calling my friend and telling her that after seeing Kenny on the stage that night, I knew that that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
Pickler should definitely make things interesting in the country music world.
