American Idol Fan Site | Who got voted off American Idol

It’s only been a few weeks since we crowned Taylor Hicks the American Idol, however the runner-ups have been getting their fair share of publicity and record deals.  The american Idols will go on tour this summer, but all the Idols are in popular demand. 

American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry is reportedly close to inking a deal with American Idol and may be planning on taking his act solo.

The seasoned rock veteran performed very well on the show and it was the shock of the season when he was voted off the program with three weeks left.
RCA Music Group, which is home to all the past ‘Idol’ winners, will sign Katharine McPhee and is close to signing “a solo deal with Chris Daughtry.”

Ace Young is also said to be in talks with the label, the AOL web site reports Monday

Second runner up in this season’s American Idol Elliott Yamin was possible the best voice this season’s show had to offer.

And while it appears that Idol is offering up record deals to several contestants that none has yet been offered to Elliott.

But the singer is apparently on ‘The Firm’s’ radar.
    Elliott Yamin has yet to land a record deal, Hollywood powerhouse management company The Firm flew the crooner to Vegas last weekend and hooked him up with tickets to back-to-back concerts by Madonna and Prince.

    While this is all good news for the finalists, history shows good record sales are not guaranteed. After winning ‘Idol’ in 2002, Kelly Clarkson sold over 7 million CDs and won two Grammys while her first season runner-up, Justin Guarini, went on to sell less than 150,000 copies of his debut CD before being dropped by RCA.

Elliott Yamin has a very large following and a dedicated fan base.   If he gets the right fit and good sound management and songs he certainly should have a successful first album.

It will be up to him after that as to whether or not he can make a soilid career with his style of singing.  Best guess is yes.

It will be interesting to watch which label nabs the singer once he fulfills his initial obligations to American Idol and to watch and see which direction his career turns.
