American Idol Fan Site | Who got voted off American Idol

It was an interesting night for the American Idol season 5 final performaces.  Both Contestants Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks provides some highs and lows. American Idol Fans had 3 phone numbers a peice to call for their final idol as well as text messages and an extended 4 hour voting time. Going into the Show Taylor had a comanding lead to become the next american idol, and he never let up.  The only negative about Taylors performance was a wardrobe choice of a crappy colored sports jacket.  Katharine McPhee appeared at times like a deer in headlights.  She had one good song.
Katharine McPhee opened the show singing “”Black Horse And The Cherry Tree.”
Randy Jackson said “I actually think you sang it better this time than the first time you did it.”  Paula Abdul said “It was a fun opening.”   Simon said it was good with a small “g” and that it was a good warm-up for her.

Then Taylor Hicks performed his first song “Living For The City.”  He did a great job, the only thing off was a bad velvet sport jacket that made him look like a lounge lizzard. Randy Jackson said “America that’s a hot one right there.”  Paula Abdul said “Way to go, way to open up the show.”  Simon Cowell said “It was a great way to start the show.  It was a smart choice of song.  It’s arguable the worst jacket I’ve ever seen in my life, but what do I know.  Let me tell you, round one to you.”    Simon said that round one goes to Taylor.

 For her second song, Katharine McPhee sang “Over The Rainbow.” Randy Jackson said “Check it out, you worked it out again.”  Paula Abdul said “You’ve made everyone proud, and every little girl proud who wants to dream and aspire to be you.  Congratulations, you owned it up there.”  Simon Cowell said “I truly believe this was your best performance of the competition so far, you’re back in the game.”

  For his second song, Taylor Hicks sang “Levon.” This was the weaker of Taylors performace, He didn’t have the zip or zing that he normally has. Randy Jackson said “It was a little pitchy for me.”  Paula Abdul said “I think what may be pitchy for you is the essence of who Taylor is.”  Simon Cowell said “I think you walked the first round.  I think Katharine has taken the second round, and I think it’s all to play for.”Simon said that after two rounds, we’re tied.

For her third and final song, Katharine sang “My Destiny,” which will be her first single. This was just a terrible sonmg and terrible performace. Randy Jackson said “You look amazing, you sounded really good, I did not love the song.”  Paula Abdul said “Listen that is not your fault Katharine, because you are brilliant”  Simon Cowell said “In my opinion, you went from brilliant to quite good in one song.”

  For his third and final song, Taylor sang “Did I Make You Proud,” which will be his first single.  Randy Jackson said “Based on the song, I think this is a slightly better song, but you know what I love about you, what I’ve always loved about you since day one, you know who Taylor Hicks is, and no matter what the song is, you know how to make it into a Taylor Hicks‘ vehicle.”  Paula Abdul said “I couldn’t agree with Randy more.”  Simon Cowell said “Taylor, ok, assuming that I was right that the show was tied, then you just won American Idol.”

Lets say that again shall we: Simon said, “Taylor, you have just won American Idol.”
