So do you have everything set for tonight’s 5-2-06 Live American Idol show?   Extra VCR Tape, Tivo, Power Generator in case of Storms or power loss? Is the noisy neighbor pacified so you can concentrate on your Favorite Hour of Television?  Are your dialing fingers flexed. Did you program 1-866-Idols 01  through 1-866-Idols 05 into your cordless phone?

In tonight’s Final Five American Idol Episode, our future castaways will sing songs form the year of their birth, and follow up with another contemporary song off today’s top music charts.

Will our Idols pick the right song? Will we need to break out our Randy to English Dictionaries? Will Paula Not Cry? Will Simon wear a Sweater? Will Ryan Seacrest Grow an Inch or two taller or wear some lifts?

It should make an interesting evening with just five remaining contestants.  Elliot Yamin of Richmond Virginia has come on strong. Chris Daughtry the early odds on favorite to win Season Five of American Idol has wavered a bit recently. Katharine McPhee continues to stun us one way or another, either with her voice, her looks or her wardrobe malfunctions. Paris Bennett just has talent for and from generations. Taylor Hicks the original Drunk Dad and his Grecian formula do and herky-jerky dance moves will continue to stun an amaze us. 

The Live American Idol show also brings out the Where are They Now celebrities.  Agents of the has beens must be working the scalper lines to get tickets for their less than productive former Hot celebrities. In the past few weeks, we have seen Tori Spelling, Marilu Henner, and people we recognize but have no clue of their name.  Wasn’t the the Guy from “BJ and the Bear”  and David Hasslehof in the upper balcony seats with a sign?

Speaking of signs, the live show is getting to look a lot like a WWE wresting event. The fans with their O’ so creative simile and  signage.   “Pick a Pack of Pickled Picklers” or “Ace’s High” could get a run for the money with potential audience sings that include:  “Tuesday Night McPhee-ver”,  ” One Night In Paris- Bennett”  “American in Paris”  ” Our Paris isn’t French”,  ” Elliott-bo-belliot-fee-phi-Felliot”,  ” ET phones from home for Elliot”. or the best yet the  ABC executive secretary with the ” Desperate House Wives Seek Taylor’s Grey Anatomy”

Regardless of tonight’s performances, Judges comments and the Who’s-Not Celebrity in the crowd, it should make for an interesting hour of entertainment.  It’s free, it ’s fun and  it’s on FOX on Tuesday Nights.

I think I might watch NBC?  Yeah Right!!
