American Idol
Well, I got 50 percent correct… Kinnik Sky and Will Makar are gone.
But I really didn’t think Gedeon McKinney was going. Ayla Brown wasn’t as surprising though.
Ayla really took it hard, being the over-achiever that she is — obviously not used to losing. I had to remind myself that she’s only 17. Well, back to basketball …
I know I’ve been a critical of Gedeon, but now that he’s gone, I feel like something’s missing from the guy’s lineup. Hmmmm… no more men of color. Not a terrible thing, since there are some really solid singers left, but Kevin Covais?! That guy IS NOT as innocent as everyone seems to think. Just watch him… kinda scary. At any rate, he’s a boy among men, literally — he’s 16, the rest are between 25 and 29.
The women/girls, though are the opposite — Mandisa is 29, the rest are between 16 and 21.
I’m glad Bucky Covington made it through. I thought for sure he was a gonner when he and Gedeon were facing off. With his country bent, he’ll bring some musical diversity to the show.
A lot of people have been commenting that Melissa McGhee has potential. She does, and hopefully she’ll figure out how to reign in her energy a bit and focus that rasp that makes her voice unique.
Overall, a pretty solid bunch left — except for Chicken Little — but at least he gives us something to talk about.
Did the right people go home? Tell us what you think?

Comments: I predicted both Kinink and Will, however like Ron and alot of other bloggers, Gedeon was a shock. Ayla was a toss up, hated to see her go…
