The Top 8 American Idol boys made it tough during their Wednesday night performance show.  A couple of weeks ago most would probably have picked Gedeon McKinney and Bucky Convington as two who would not make the Top 6 boys.  However, Gedeon and Bucky have been coming on strong in recent weeks, and both delivered again tonight.  They could still be going home because earlier in the competition Gedeon got labeled as someone with an attitude, and Bucky could lose a lot of his votes to fellow North Carolina native Chris Daughtry. 

Each of the eight boys reveals a secret about themselves.  Gedeon McKinney reveals that when he’s not singing he’s painting.  Gedeon sings “When A Man Loves A Woman.”   Randy Jackson says “Nice way to start the show tonight.”  Paula Abdul says “You’re a true showman.”  Simon Cowell says “I like you because you’re interesting.  You’re kind of growing on me a bit Gedeon.”

Chris Daughtry reveals that just a couple years ago he was styling his hair just like Ryan Seacrest.   Chris sings “Broken.”  Randy Jackson says “Rock on, baby.”  Paula Abdul says “Whatever happens in this competition I’m sure you’re going to be out there selling out stadiums.”  Simon Cowell says “I thought it was a boring song, and I thought it was one of those songs that you won’t remember at the end of this show.”

Kevin Covais reveals that he sometimes enjoys rapping to Kanye West.  Kevin sings “Starry, Starry Night.”  Randy Jackson says “You’re in the dog pound eternally.”  Paula Abdul says “I think ballads are your ticket.”  Simon Cowell says “I think you’ve got the granny vote again tonight with that song.” 

Bucky Covington reveals that he has an identical twin brother named Rocky.  Bucky sings “Wave On Wave.”  Randy Jackson says “Once again it’s a great song for you.”  Paula Abdul says “What I love about you is you’re unpretentious.”  Simon Cowell says “It wasn’t exceptional.  It was adequate.” 

Will Makar reveals that he recently started studying Japanese.  Will sings “How Sweet It Is.”  Randy Jackson says “That was not good for me.”  Paula Abdul says “Will, forget eleven year olds, because I’m a fan.”  Simon Cowell says “Paula, all I can say is you must have been starved for entertainment as a child.” 

Taylor Hicks reveals that he used to work as the Easter Bunny at a shopping mall.  Taylor sings “Takin’ It To The Streets.”  Randy Jackson says “You representing the dog pound up there.”  Paula Abdul says “Taylor that was my favorite performance from you.”  Simon Cowell says “You stood out, best performance so far.”

Elliott Yamin reveals that he has hearing loss in one ear.  Elliott sings “Heaven.”  Randy Jackson says “I would make a record on you tonight.”  Paula Abdul says “You are absolutely phenomenal and amazing.”  Simon Cowell says “Tonight, not your best for me.” 

Ace Young reveals that he worked as a handyman to pay the bills.  Ace sings “Butterflies.”  Randy Jackson says “You pulled it off, it was hot.”  Paula Abdul says “Your falsetto’s amazing.”  Simon Cowell says “I think you made that work.  However, I think there were parts of the vocal that were not great.”      

Reality TV Magazine’s predictions are that Taylor Hicks, Ace Young, Chris Daughtry are definitely safe based on overall performance.  Elliott Yamin and Gedeon McKinney should also be safe based on overall performance, but if it becomes a popularity vote they could be at risk.  Reality TV Magazine predicts that Bucky Covington, Kevin Covais, and Will Makar will be the bottom three, and Will and Kevin will be going home.
